Hi everyone,
Im currently planning on upgrading my Pc bcs my 3050 is annoying me in multiple games. The 5070 caught my eye but i dont know if the bottleneck is to big or not.
My current setup is a Ryzen 5 5600x and a 3050 on 1080p with 16GB of RAM. I know the 5600x will somewhat bottleneck the 5070 but looking at the prices of Am5 im not yet interested in upgrading Mainboard CPU and RAM
Will i be fine for some time till I upgrade the CPU bcs I feel like my 3050 is slowing down my 5600x more than a 5070 would slow down a 5600x?
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

You will both have more performance and a CPU bottleneck at the same time. There are games out now where a 5600X will still bottleneck a RTX5070 at 1440p.

Yeah, you’ll be fine, but at 1080p a 5070 with a 5600X is definitely going to be CPU-limited in a lot of games.
That said, it’s still a massive upgrade over a 3050. You’ll get way better performance overall, especially if you play newer AAA stuff or use higher settings. The GPU isn’t “wasted,” it just won’t stretch its legs fully until you upgrade platform later.
A few things though:
So short version: yes, it makes sense, and yes, your 3050 is absolutely holding the system back more than a 5070 would.

Ok tysm, I play a big range of different genres so they can be CPU or GPU intense thats why i was going for something with a bit more power which can still be rebalanced after some time. I will get the 5070 and Maybe get a 1440p monitor or wait till Am5 prices have settled. Does the fact that that i use 3 monitors have any effect? I mean the GPU should thereby be more used right?

Yeah, basically your GPU will be busy rendering your main game + whatever mess you have on the other two screens.

Ok thanks again for the detailed explenation ^v^
