Is this one of the Japanese made Vortex scopes? I understand some of the Razor line are.
CupHot9957@reddit
Yes. The glass is Japanese for all Razors, these just pretty much flavor sfp and no illumination. Boeing reticles too, in my opinion.
Trope360@reddit
"made in japan" doesn't always simply mean top quality either. China, Vietnam and the Philippines can put out better high end glass than low end Japanese glass. Too many people get on the "I heard this is by LOW" train. Hell Volkswagon owned and made Bugatti's for two decades, it doesn't make your Jetta any relation to a million dollar luxury sportscar...

Gimme one of those airbus reticles

This is a weird duck, and I own a 3-15 Razor LHT and saw this price a couple days ago and nearly ripped out my credit card. Then I saw the reticle and that it's SFP, read some posts to look at the /u/C_does/ review of it and he does a great job, and I passed on this. It is made in Japan, that seems to be about all it has going for it. You can get the Refurbished Viper HD 2-10 for $420 at aaoptics if you want similar weight/build, where - Vortex if youre reading - I really want to buy this scope where a true 2-10 comes in the Razor lineup. This just seemed like, an experimental run for midway that didn't really earn the Razor name.

Vortex's peak 2-10 is the Viper Gen 1 ffp x32 objective. The Gen 2 has a busier reticles and retarded weight. The Gen 1 exactly but with Razor glass would have been one of the best scopes in existence, but instead we are left with this disappointment.
Trope360@reddit
Absolutely, that's why I say if vortex is listening... this isn't the "Razor" we're looking for. But we'd all be buying a 2-10 if they'd do it right. The Athlon Ares HLR 2.5-15×42 just got announced and I'm waiting to hear more reviews, but it's 21oz, zero stop, nice etched glass floating dot MIL reticle, it's SFP is only downside but fits the bill more than this and I'd bet it'll be near same price once it's been out for a few months and in plenty of retailers hands. For a hunting scope I can do SFP if everything else is good.
dunkslapper@reddit
Damn that reticle looks pretty useless
memearms@reddit
The LHT is the hunting line. That and this being a 2-10 probably explains it.
Trope360@reddit
Yep, with that in mind it's not a terrible reticle, just also being SFP and from the reviews.. this would perhaps be a great scope for my old 30-30 type of a rig, but not something that's going on one of my Tikkas. It nearly seems, priced appropriately for what it is. Better quality glass than most in the price range, but worse in other categories.
calebanana@reddit
Man I saw that 100 dollars and thought that was the price for a split second. 😮💨
