Except most proper jobs have a probation period for this exact reason. Unless you're doing some casual shifts, which at that point, they won't pay you because you didn't work. So Anon is basically going to all this effort of doing interviews in order to not get paid for a week so he can start a job he can't do, so he can quit and not get paid for a week. Very smart.
The whole angst over cover letters has always been artificial and weird.
People misunderstand and think it's s creative writing assignment that they need ChatGPT for - it's not.
It's literally just a one/two paragraph formatted introductory note. You just write a few sentences explaining who you are, how your experience applies to the role, and maybe a sentence about why you're looking to move jobs if it's relevant.
How many jobs do you think you need to apply for to actually get hired? In my experience it's dozens to hundreds. Writing "one or two paragraphs" adds up fast.
in my experience they dont even open the file you send. but with all the ai hiring tools out there i am paranoid about getting flagged for having it write my letters
Doesn't matter cause half the hiring managers are using AI to shift through and throw out the top 80% of the thousands of AI-generated applications they get.

The biggest hole in this plan is that if you’re absolutely clueless about what to do, you’re getting fired in the first or second day.

Surely, by now, most hiring managers for most places can sniff out ChatGPT level writing in cover letters... right?

I've spoken with my boss about this and they say they've had interviews with people who are literally responding to all questions via ChatGPT...

Isn’t this “week of holidays” unpaid though?

Well, that is what it takes to function in the modern career culture, you'd have to be a soulless conman. Anon gets it.
