I don't have an answer to why you felt the need to take a picture while driving next to a semi truck while on the freeway, with your phone in your hand and not paying attention to the road ahead.
Not embarrassed, the logic of "you can't do this thing safely"
Lol okay, if you can't multi task a pretty basic task then how are you able to drive into NYC? How are you able to do the wonky backs where you gotta watch traffic, block traffic , hop a curb and blindsode into an unlit dock in Brooklyn.
How are you able to answer calls from brokers or dispatch, look at eld hours, change podcasts, whatever lol. If you can't take a one handed photo while traveling in a straight line in Wyoming, or say that's so dangerous, how do you manage day to day life as a truck driver?
Like seriously. I double check addresses, look up fuel stops, whatever all the time. Don't think it's dangerous, and probably somewhere there's statistics to back it up. If you have driven ptr for like 9-10 years , you're telling me you always go 10-2 and never use your phone lol nah, that would suck humongous cock.
Lol, or I can pretend like I'm not 75 and can safely manage to do basic tasks when it's safe
People post their trucks with 3 gps, a company tablet, and a Sirius xm display all going at once. That is way more unsafe imo, but hey to each their own
Not shitty behavior really. If your Uncle Larry who's been an alcy for 20 years offers you a ride somewhere and you know he's 2-4 beers deep, probably fine, that's just operating for Larry
Larry blowing a 0.05 is like me blowing a 0.00.
My cousin that's never drank before should t drive at a 0.01.
Shrug
People saying it's so reckless and unsafe. Well maybe for you. Lol
There's a fucking reason that most states (if not all) in the United States of America, which allows people to own all manner of functional military hardware with zero civilian usage, forbids you from holding your cellphone while driving. Even America realizes it's too deadly to permit it.
Stop coping, understand taking this photo was as braindead as the truck you "photographed" (blurry AF focused on your interior), and do better in the future, that's all there is to this
There was one put out of service in Manitoba Canada recently. Might be the one mentioned, taped up mirror and a jacket taped over the window. Company said they told the driver that wrecker was one the way but he didn't want to wait. He was more than likely going good to run all the way back to Alberta terminal like that.
Eas just outside Saskatoon actually. And there's been quite few in last few months doing this. Just about months one had passenger door ripped off. And was caught putting in back on with rachet straps. To hold it in place
And there was one in northern ontario last month or so. Lost a wire roll, Police tracked them down and did a level one inspection. Lots of defects found, lots of charges for driver and company, pulled the trailer plates and put the driver OOS.
Got a call later about a trailer with suspicious plates. Same guys. They wrote the plate number on a piece of paper with a sharpie and used electrical tape to stick it to trailer. Lots of new charges for the Co driver and more for the company.
The biggest issue. The trailer had brake issues at the wheel level and the blue glad hand was broken off the trailer so they just had the blue air line under a bungee on the catwalk.
At that point, just drive with the window open. That's what happened to me once when my window wouldn't go back up. Drove 300 miles back to the yard with the window open.
I had mine detonate on me on beltway 8 in Houston a few months back. I looped back to the yard and had them get the glass guy to come out. Never did figure out what caused it..
I've been reported a handful of times for having the window open. My boss at the time came up and said I'm not in trouble and he's not trying to start anything, but asked if the window was Infact open. I know who called, they did a 3 point turn and followed me for a while that day. I've had police ask me why the window is open and point out all the vehicles around with closed windows and tell me that was typical and I was asking for attention. I said ok then, have a nice day if that's what this is about and he asked if I would close the window and I said probably not in my lifetime and he was confused and wasn't sure how he'd write the report
Really that’s wild I roll with my window down all night long unless it’s raining or too too cold I likely just turn the heater on and leave it down a bit
Sometimes I'll close it for like 15 minutes, imagine that's almost as quiet as most people have it cause it's still an old truck with drafts. I bet they could hear a phone call...!? Windows open, phone face down on the passenger seat
It needs to be in my opinion. I saw one going down the interstate one day with blown cab airbags, door strapped closed and half the body panels were missing.

Lol, okay.
I do, to take a picture of this dude with a tape window.

Keep justifying shitty behavior, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Dashcams and hands free are things, you should try them sometime.
