Gotta install a generator too with these fuel prices

I believe in the UK they are known as showman engines, and they have slightly different rules to trucks, like its only allowed to carry equipment/tools and its main purpose is to pull a trailer/amusement/another thing that's generally heavy and unwieldy
vindolin@reddit (OP)
Interesting, looks like they are called "Schausteller LKW" here in Germany.
And now I'm in love with a truck π π https://i.imgur.com/OxwSPSb.png
ReBearded@reddit
Yea the first version of them go back to the steam tractors/engines that would be attached to a generator to power all the lights etc
Those ones are REALLY special https://youtu.be/68Rr8HLH-6w?si=gY0BXliXbPQh1SEw

Typical Carnival/Fair truck, hauling the attraction. For maneuvering there is the can hook up the trailer on both ends.
vindolin@reddit (OP)
Yep, it really was hauling a market booth :)
bananslickarn@reddit
Is there something on the front of it or is it perspective?
DanEpiCa@reddit
It has most likely a "Ringfeder" coupling mounted at the front and is pushing a trailer. These short trucks are very common for fairs/circuses and such in Germany and that's how they maneuver their stuff around.

"Here at Scania, we are proud to introduce into the North American market, the all new..... Costco-nator! Finally a vehicle that can easily accommodate $600 in frozen food, $500 in shelf-stable snack foods and 700 cubic feet each of toilet paper and paper towel bales!"
Lol

Yes Iβm always curious what straight trucks with extended sleepers haul that make it profitable.

What is sticking out of the front? Spray unit?
schweinekuchen_@reddit
thatβs the shaft for the trailer. your average european truck with this trailer combination has the shaft always on the back of the tractor unit but in some rare cases the front of your tractor has a connecting unit to maneuver the trailer into tight spots.
this is the kind of trailer / shaft connection.

i think in the us there are some dump trucks that use this kind of trailer too
Initial-Relation-696@reddit
Some tight European roads would make.that handy.
