Hey, i had that card!
Was super power hungry because of the reject chip but FPS/€ ratio was great :D

Glad you guys find this useful :)

Timur thanks for the work man!

every day linux slightly improves, you can't escape the snail

I was thinking about that, how I just keep seeing examples of Linux making more inroads, after just about dang near taking over everything other than the desktop. Okay, so things like Android, they're more like a walled garden that's built on top of Linux, but it's still running Linux.

largely unrelated, but can manufacturers settle on more sane identifiers. I read this and I'm like, but wait, I have a 7900 xtx...
"oh wait, silly me, HD is a previous decade, non-HD is the modern decade"
yep, that totally makes sense /s

Sane identifiers, and not rename it mid-sale...
I believe it was AMD that renamed a GPU model 2 times back in 2013.
TimurHu@reddit
All manufacturers do this. They sell slightly different variants of the same chip under different marketing names.
DheeradjS@reddit
Sure, but that was the exact same SKU they just renamed mid-cycle.

You must be young. My third GPU was HD 7950 which I got from an old Ubisoft studio workstation. It is still working.
Malsententia@reddit
Young? My first cpu was a Pentium 1, in used Compaq Presario. I'm just commenting on naming schemes.
regeya@reddit
If we're bragging about first CPUs of PCs, mine was an 8088.
I still think GPU naming conventions are confusing. Though not as confusing as monitor model names.
Malsententia@reddit
Not claiming I can compete with that, lol, just saying relative to the person I was replying to. Additionally, some of us grew up poor, with combos of hand-me-downs, dumpster salvage, and underpriced Goodwill scores(on a lucky day).

They inherent that trait from TVs. Seriously, go try to find the specs of a Hisense R6 or whatever. There are dozens of different models under the same name.
khsh01@reddit
Mine was the HD7750. Couldn't afford a psu so stuck with it until I shifted to laptops.
TheCatBot@reddit
Still have mine in a box somewhere
