What is the best moving company from Edinburgh to London?

I’m moving from Edinburgh to London in a couple of weeks and I am trying to decide whether it is cheaper and easier to get a man with a van or hire a car and drive my belongings down myself?
I have researched my options but hiring a man with van is seeming much more expensive and I am honestly not sure what company is the most efficient.
I only have about 2 medium boxes, 3 large bags, a small suitcase and a small box, so no furniture or anything particularly heavy. Due to this I’m thinking that surely there is a cheaper way of moving my belongings down without paying £400+…

Send it yourself, but at the same time, £400 is a very reasonable amount for a removal company.
Not only will they have to do a return trip of about 12 hours driving, they'll have to use their van, their insurance, their diesel, they'll have to park in London, they'll have to park at your place. You've got two people's salaries.
I think that's insanely good value to be quite honest with you. I'd be surprised if you got quotes for less than £1,000. Not saying you should do it, but...

Hire a car/van, take a mate or 2, best weekend for all of you. If its 1 way some companies do 1 way hire for cheap especially between airports.

Former removal man in Glasgow. Send that on inpost or parcel monkey. A removal company will want a ridiculous sum of money for that. Just put all the bags in cardboard boxes. Be about £10 a box
