I just wish more of these places would offer actual groceries.
Kwik Trip in Wisconsin is amazing for this.
Some of the larger locations offer a full pantry section. Fresh meat and fruit. All reasonably priced considering it’s a truck stop.
Whataburger sucks ass though, you’ll burn through your 30 and then some just waiting on stale fries. Everyone was hyping it up, but when they finally opened near me, I was significantly disappointed.
I agree with the comment below. It would be really cool if these truck stops would offer more groceries for drivers to be able to purchase. Obviously I know you can go to a Walmart or any other grocery store but sometimes we don't always get the opportunity to except for these truck stops and what limited availability they have on products.
I live in San Antonio but that loves is quite literally on the other side of the city from me (I live north of 1604 off of 281). Can anyone confirm if you can pay with loves points at the whataburger? If I know for sure it's a yes, I'll go out of my way for that whataburger as I have over $300 in points. I know some restaurants you can't, like McDonald's, Wendy's... Ummm those are the only ones that I can think of but point is, some of them don't accept points.
Nothing is worse than Chesters Chicken. They have some secret frying method to turn it into a fried brick with 0 chicken meat. And the sides have been sitting there since 1993.
I had an almost $25 burger at a shake shack in one of the service plazas in upstate NY. I just ordered without looking at the prices. I almost said screw you but I bent over and ponied up cause I was hungry.
I wish theyd get rid of Bojangles. I ate there once and it was horrible. Now everytime i pass by one i summon my finger guns and yell "bankruptcy handcannon" or some stupid nonsense.
Food quality nowadays is just complete garbage as a whole. I wish truck stops would put in healthier alternatives instead of heart attack and obesity restaurants
It's because fast food restaurant menu items are designed to get you addicted, and thus a higher likelihood that you'll keep coming back and spending money there.
Add in the fact that many of the restaurant franchises at truck stops are owned by the truck stop chain themselves (which is why you can use your reward points there), it's easy money.
My trainer didn't have a fridge or shit in his truck and I was basically meat in a seat, we never stopped anywhere but loves, I was ready to pack my shit up and go home every time there was a fucking arbys instead of mcdonalds
I lost 40 pounds in those 6 months from just having some peanuts and water instead of fucking Arbys so many times.
this is great for truckers wanting different options, but since i live in San Antonio, we have whataburgers like McDonald's. but still better then subway and Chesters though
Lol I was there yesterday. I said “wow that’s gotta be a first”. And if you keep going south to La Frontera, TX there a pilot(3rd party) with a chick fil A)😋

Im from San an, whataburger sucks. Arby's was a much better choice

This is why I love Kwik Trip!
HolyOrangeJuice@reddit
Kwik Trip is my hero. Kwik Star too.
Emergency_Ad1152@reddit (OP)
If you ever see an Allsup's, they do the same! Also, some Braum's have truck parking and have groceries too.
commandough@reddit
Note that the vast majority of Braum's only offer RV parking
The_Okay_Baboo@reddit
Sleeper cabs are kind of an RV
deezkeys098@reddit
Really? What state? All the ones in Texas I have been too don’t have groceries
opinionated_penguin@reddit
Allsups is my celery plug
Frac_Hauler@reddit
Oh awesome. I’ll watch. I pull chemical tanks so that makes parking for groceries even more tricky to find. Thanks for the tip
HighwayStar71@reddit
Makes me want to move to the Upper Midwest for a regional job, damn the winters.
ImShamallamadingdong@reddit
I love when I have runs going through an area with Kwik Trips. Cheap, but good quality. Their microwaveable meals are all pretty solid too.
KalTheo@reddit
My company only has Love's and Kwik Trip fuel cards. KT improves my diet so much!
InvestigatorBroad114@reddit
Need more of that.
possibly_lost45@reddit
I love arbies but thank God they did something different.
userGamer556@reddit
Love Arby’s? How?
possibly_lost45@reddit
They have some good sammies.
Ninja-Storyteller@reddit
Tasty Reubins!
P3tr0@reddit
The foods good, Arby's didn't get hate until social media made it cool to do so
Washedhockeyguy@reddit
I think the only good thing that has ever came out of social media was the country’s agreement that arby’s is gross
cheesecake-gnome@reddit
He likes the meats
thesheepthatwent_moo@reddit
Wtf
possibly_lost45@reddit
People can't have their own preferences?
thesheepthatwent_moo@reddit
Fair enough, some guys like fat women and thats a-ok 👍
Radiant_Swan187@reddit
But what if I hate arbys but love fat women
Spankpocalypse_Now@reddit
Then you’re normal
possibly_lost45@reddit
It's all pink in the middle. Arbies and fat chicks
Washedhockeyguy@reddit
You what arby’s?
duhrun@reddit
Loves only real competition is Kwik Trip, in fact Kwik Trip just needs an upgrade to their shower system and Loves is done.

SnooBunnies7166@reddit
Only McDonald’s here.
Device-80@reddit
Was just there, whataburger isnt open yet 😥
Sterling_____Archer@reddit
How hard is it to get a truck to deliver fresh food to a truck stop?
RedlineM5@reddit
Is it open now? Parked there last week it was still closed.

Panda Express would be nice but not if they charge $20 for a combo. Tired of the same ol' shit.
Socketz11@reddit
You can find a few in IL at the service plazas.
marcmayhem@reddit
What? Couldn't fit another Hardee's in?
chris_gnarley@reddit
We desperately need more Love’s here in California
Niko120@reddit
Great. We can get a $15 burger now

Emergency_Ad1152@reddit (OP)
Hahaha true 🤣
Outlaw_Trucker@reddit
Crazy cause I'm sitting in their lot right now. The Whataburger isn't open until next month, though.

Its that weird cheap chicken they use. They tasted completely different like 15 yrs ago. But you can say that for just about all food places nowadays

Whataburger.......Whatabill.
Whataburger is already expensive as it is.
RoseKlingel@reddit
Naf Naf is still the best. Would be cool to see a simple smoothie/sammich shop. Healthier choices!!
yardbirdtex@reddit
Texas native- Whataburger has been trash since they got bought by that Chicago shrinkflation company. Not excited. Arby’s is better now.
groovyinutah@reddit
Oh good, now I can get burned out on that too...
ShoddySpace5680@reddit
Bro you don’t have to eat junk food all the time 😭
groovyinutah@reddit
I actually eat my own food most of the time. Places like these are for when your just too freaking tired and rushed to make a meal.
Timmy98789@reddit
Meal prep and healthy snacks will save you. Beating a dead horse, but that garbage isn't worth it.

The Loves here has Hardees. Not a fan of their lunch/dinner menu, but their breakfast is good. The Frisco breakfast sandwich is my favorite.
ForeverSquirrelled42@reddit
Now if a Love’s here in PA would open up a Whataburger I’d be a regular customer! I haven’t had one since I was in Texas.
