I know everyone is tired of seeing these ☺️ but these are my hours & I wanted to see what everyone thought. For context, I’m a CFII at a smaller school & my interview is in a few days.

Can someone expand on this? I'm a PPL holder with about 130 hours

This is for once you’re applying to airlines, some airlines have a preferred recency of experience for flight hours. If you don’t have a certain range of hours within a previous period, they may worry you’ll have issues with their training.

My last 90 days basically 3:55...
Living the dream (I time out and need to get current soon though)
0621Hertz@reddit
100 in the last 90 is insane to me.
There are plenty of guys who sit reserve or work in reputable charter companies that typically fly less than that much.
TellmSteveDave@reddit
What’s this “non-deployment cycle.” Never heard of it….
0621Hertz@reddit
A year without a deployment. Whatever it’s been 4 years…
TellmSteveDave@reddit
Sorry - there was definitely some cynicism in that. I can’t think of a time we aren’t deploying…but that’s Air Force tankers…

Ya im currently flying a turbo prop single pilot but im only getting probably like 200 hours a year. I like the job so im not in a rush to go anywhere anytime soon but this question it does concern me when i do eventually want to move on from here & into a regional for example.
NevadaDoug1961@reddit
If you're paid by the hour, how do you live on two hundred fifty hours a year?
Tatimary@reddit
Im on salary
FastJetDriver69@reddit
I got 450 hours of F-35A time in 3.7 years of flying it. 0.8-1.3 hours at a time as an FTU instructor pilot. I flew two three times a week on average not including sims. 3-9 hours of briefing/debriefing combined every sortie if not flying red air or direct support. I feel like I flew my ass off.
NevadaDoug1961@reddit
@ KVPS?
0621Hertz@reddit
Thanks for the metric, I thought the A model pilots had it good.
FastJetDriver69@reddit
Still only averaged out to about 120 hours a year in the actual jet. We didn’t log taxi time so you can add about 0.3 per sortie
0621Hertz@reddit
That’s one of the bigger blunders in military aviation in my opinion.
JetLagDad@reddit
I have 165 in the last 90 sitting reserve
BagOfMoneyNoChange@reddit
I flew about 40 in the last 90 sitting reserve.
0621Hertz@reddit
And I have 80 in the last 90 sitting reserve.
It varies.
eburgain@reddit
In my interview prep the Captian said they wanted at least 100 in last 90. Ur last 365 is good tho he said 400 for that! Good luck

If they give you grief about being short, just tell them you also teach a lot of ground school (because you do).

Okie dokie! Thanks so much! 👍🏼
Kandranos@reddit
Recruiter at Sun n Fun told me 50 in the last 30 days was "ideal"
NevadaDoug1961@reddit
Isn't it hard to get that many hours if you're looking for a job
TrueNorth_360@reddit
That's solid -- Good luck!!
NoHelicopter2452@reddit (OP)
Thanks!!!! 😊
Throwawayyacc22@reddit
Best of luck on the interview!!! Just had my IR ride, so im a lowly “student” but i wish you the best.
NoHelicopter2452@reddit (OP)
Congratulations!!! Keep on keepin’ on!

About what I had and got it
dontpoke_thebear@reddit
May be dated info, but I think they’re looking for at least 100 in 90. You got a couple days to do it
NoHelicopter2452@reddit (OP)
Yeah I was thinking about it! Just to cover all my bases. Thank you :,)
dontpoke_thebear@reddit
Cheers!
dcl415@reddit
You are flying and keeping sharp. Best of luck!
NoHelicopter2452@reddit (OP)
Thank you very much! ☺️
