Bryan Adams, Do I Have to Say the Words? by Anton Corbijn

"Stay" by Shakespear's Sister, mainly for Siobhan Fahey's part. Little barely-teenage me wanted to be her right then, lol.

I feel like I'm the only person I know who knew this song/video and was totally obsessed as well

Take on Me is still the GOAT of music videos to me.

I encourage watching the literal music video version. It’s fantastic.

in a world where Duran Duran is more boyband, it’s tough to temember they started out as a nightclub band. and they released music videos to be played in nightclubs. hence the very nsfw version of girls on film
porb2020@reddit (OP)
Nice. Never knew there was a nsfw version. I love when artist do this. If you haven’t seen it already check out the unrated version of blurred lines. Emily Ratajkowski is so cute in it😍
cnhn@reddit
the nsfw version came first As mtv didn’t exist during the videos production. Also there is a nsfw version of the chauffeur
porb2020@reddit (OP)
Wow. Thats some weird surrealist art. But neat nonetheless. 😋

hmm well I would choose Take On Me for the 80s but since you already picked to add some variety wow let me think....
hmm does a James Bond title sequence count as a music video? I think it essentially was the video for this since I don't think it had a stand alone as it came out I believe just before MTV:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kNksLL0sv4 (Sheena Easton - For Your Eyes Only)
for a completely traditional one and one that doesn't feature live performances or movie scenes maybe:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyF8RHM1OCg (Whitesnake - Here I Go Again)
IDK man the 80s is stacked.

trivia - it's the only Bond title sequence to ever feature the singer

Land Of Confusion was (and still is) my favorite music video. For the longest time, I didn't know who the guy playing Superman was or why he was dressed like a cowboy. In my defense, I was about 5 - 6 years old.

I always loved Michael Jackson’s videos, they were like short films.
And I know it’s later than the 80s or 90s, but Johnny Cash covering“Hurt”…. Such a haunting video. Knowing he was so close to the end, all of the iconic imagery in the video, spices of him in movies, etc. I always loved the man in Black, so even though it was 2003, it’s one of my favorites.
