What stretch of road makes you guys feel like you're gloomy to have to abandon all hope upon entering?

70 west bound at the Ohio Indiana border
NJNeal17@reddit
I find it hilarious that the last 5 miles going into Indiana are the worst but the last 5 in Indiana going into Ohio are smooth sailing! As if to say: you know where you're going! 😂.
PS fuck Indiana roads
Donjohnson33@reddit
1000%! 😂
OldPath7291@reddit
I-90 I’ve been across it more time then I can count

I70, Indiana.
Mf'er trying to break my truck.

I10 Louisiana hates it’s citizens. Oh, and fuck I85 outta Petersburg.
wehavetime@reddit
294 in Illinois/Indiana!!!! I be wanting to rip my fucking hair out. Drivers of all kind going the same speed except in the one lane truckers usually can’t be in. I do so much in and out of lanes. Other truckers usually avoid the far two right lanes like the plague so I usually stick to those when they open up.
C9Midnite@reddit
My coworkers and I call it the gauntlet. I’ve seen everything in that stretch of road. Pig truck flipped with pigs running all over the highway. High speed chases, one ended up with the guy jumping off the over pass. SO many accidents. Saw a cop get rear ended once. That stretch is a fucking warZone.

64 east from the tamarack center in beckley, wv back home in richmond, va..it’s great because I know I’m going home but it’s going to suck getting there going through all those damn mountains (Appalachian..Allegheny and Blue Ridge)
n3rf_h3rd3r@reddit
Not a trucker, but I drive this way all the time between Norfolk and Indiana. I always have to turn the music down and make sure I’m on my A game for a few hours.

Fucking dark souls! I love it!! I gotta go with the other person. Atlanta bypass.

TrolledByDestiny@reddit
Atlanta bypass lol
NaturalBornKillah@reddit
I drove 2 more hours after night drop last night at 2:00AM to just pass Atlanta. was dead tired but before that i passed thru Atlanta once (new driver) at rush hour and I already knew what was expecting me in the morning if i sleep. I literally had 4 minute drive left when i parked lol.
sputnikatto@reddit
0200 is fine, there's like no traffic on the bypass.
ApollyonFE@reddit
Why the fuck do they call it a bypass anyway? It's less than 5 miles from downtown Atlanta. Fuckin idiots 🤣
Queasy_Safe_5266@reddit
I drove from WI to GA once, and my mom's only advice was to avaoid Atlanta like the plague.
ImJustHereToSearch@reddit
I drive local here 😀
😭
slowdownskeleton@reddit
Lordy anything Atlanta related. I had to take heavy equipment to the Mercedes Benz stadium. I wanted to shoot myself. And a few times to the State Farm arena. Blah. I’ll drive hwy 27 sometimes when going south and eat an hour just to skip atl
ArdenJaguar@reddit
I watch a good YouTube video last week that had ten horrible interchanges in America. Four of them were Atlanta region. 😂
Dominik_Tirpitz@reddit
Mileage Mike?
ArdenJaguar@reddit
It might’ve been him (I think you’re right). I like his channel. Another good one is Beyond the Exit. Great vids about the backstory of places like the Grapevine, Cabbage, Donner, etc.
opinionated_penguin@reddit
Traversing east to west or vice versa thru Dallas Fort Worth is my sad place
NaturalBornKillah@reddit
Currently parked in Ft Worth and it was my first time here. (New Driver) All i can say i have cursed A LOT. Altough I'm from Chicago and we still have the most dumbass drivers in the country. Atlanta might be the second. Since its literally sister city of Chicago.
NJNeal17@reddit
Dallas was on my black list to my manager.

US 6 across Nevada. I never felt so alone like that since.

When I was training we"d be driving in Kansas, nothing but grass, corn, and the occasional power pole.
Then I would ask my student, with urgency, "What was the clearance on that bridge!?!"
They would look in the mirrors, looking for the bridge, before realizing I was kidding. Fun times.
Ninja-Storyteller@reddit
Had to be there. The truck tried to automatically break! 🤪
GTOdriver04@reddit
“Where’s that confounded bridge?”
TruckingJames423@reddit
Robert couldn't find the bridge! 🤣

Pretty much, all of I95 between Washington and Boston.

Anything near LA and NYC
IamRNG@reddit
301 north any time after 2 am at northeast florida. It's just darkness and the constantly changing speed limits discourages cruise control. it's also home to towns such as lawtey that are aggressive with pulling people over
njfish93@reddit
One time passing through with my brother, who can be quite gullible, I told him that the town was named Lawtey because when escaped slaves ended up there they said "Lawtey this would be a good place to live." His look of amazement was crushed when he said "Really?" to which I replied, "No you fucking idiot."
FlappyJ1979@reddit
I haven’t been on that road in about 20 years. I see it hasn’t changed then. I remember there used to be billboards for Lawtey speed trap
IamRNG@reddit
Supposedly they have toned down on that, but I drive assuming that they're still around.
thxby@reddit
spending money on foreign wars is more important than roads and fixing problems here.
Beneficial_Sock8219@reddit
Anything to do with Texas lower part by Us 77, 59 and 69E because it is like you are alone especially late night. More so the endless border check points of all these everyday questions by the border patrol about your citizenship status, load scans and the tense atmosphere on those roads..Every 10 miles it is a police flashing lights with a human being on cuffs. I just adore the Northern part of Texas because it is many motorists and not the usual politics near the Mexican border.
an-abnormality@reddit
Dude how is there traffic EVERY time by Woodbridge, VA lol
salskamaka@reddit
Because it bottlenecks at the Occuquan lake ridge exit. There’s always traffic there 24/7 it seems.
Alarming_Star_6549@reddit
And they are always doing roadwork in the same area with no results that we can see.
NJNeal17@reddit
Seattle. Just Seattle.
Read-It_2525@reddit
I-90 going through Chicago depending on the time of day.
NJNeal17@reddit

beavismorpheus@reddit
Same. I did a lot of Midwest to East Coast and that was the section that gave me the most headaches. There was a wreck during rush hour and it was backed up for 10 miles, no exaggeration.
After that, I would trip plan to get through there at 0300. Could always count on a spot in Westville, Indiana. That was my favorite thing about Indiana. They had these truck parking areas that were the size of a football field.
DemonicPsycho13@reddit
I44 in Missouri, idk if it’s the road itself or the drivers. Seems to be a crash every week around Joplin alone.
NJNeal17@reddit
Missouri drivers are super selfish. Not bad drivers but WILL cut you off last second to make that exit!
IgnoringHisAge@reddit
It’s not the worst stretch of road physically but spending time on I-81 always hurt my soul.
HomeGrown_Trickster@reddit
When you’re LTL and you’re tasked with dropping a transmission at a shop out in the middle of nowhere that was supposed to receive it a week ago and won’t pick up the phone. So boss says you just have to try, even though a full length truck and trailer has zero business on such roads.
IgnoringHisAge@reddit
This should’ve been a pup!

Well I am shocked nobody has said it yet but 285 in Atlanta. I must stare at my map for a half hour trying to figure out how to avoid that hellhole. Another disaster is I-35 in TX from Waco to San Antonio, on a Friday on either road is a definite Abandon all hope situation. For the shittiest road. It's US93 in AZ. Then I-70 in IN.
Aggravating_Inside23@reddit
The northeast region..... my god in heaven.

Bunch of dumbasses. Motherfuckers will create traffic because the lanes go from 2 to 5. Just knuckle draggers in that city.
Silent-Room-4987@reddit
I live In charlotte and ive seen 48 states in 10 years of otr. Charlotte is rapidly becoming worse than most. But the top spot(s) still belong to nj/nyc area, atlanta, and chicago.
