Which part of your country is more touristy? In Albania it’s the southern part

While North Albania is amazing too, it has way more beautiful mountains, but South Albania has more beautiful village, cities, archeological sites and beaches.
It gets more investments too.

Albania in summer is South, in winter is North.

The North of Albania is also not worse, just that the beaches are sandy instead of rocky, so it looks less touristy while actually being better to be at.
Shkodra, Theth and especially the Shala river are amazing
ThickCaterpillar9867@reddit
Shala river is smth very special but when it comes to the beaches, the best beach in the Adriatic is still worse than the worst in the Ionian !!

I guess rocky beaches are your thing. Sure, they look better, but sandy beaches make a vacation more enjoyable

I'm a simple man from the south, sand beaches are insanely better than rocky ones.

Wow, where are the people?
arcane_labor92@reddit
Easy for us in Bulgaria - it's the East. Although there is quite a lot to see outside of it.

Very beautiful and impressive. I thought about visiting Albania around 1998, and I quickly found out it would be better to wait due to the turmoil of 1997. It was strongly suggested that you hire someone to take you around the country.
Seems like modern-day Albania is doing a lot better. I may yet get over there.

What is a tourism industry?? 💪🇷🇸🦅🔥

Honestly, I do not understand the hype around Ksamil.
Albanian_Trademark@reddit
It used to be so damn good but now it’s overly touristic and ruined by buildings
timisorean_02@reddit
I visited in 2022, for a day, even back then, I could not understand the hype.
Albania is overly touristic and overcrowded in general.
holyrs90@reddit
Ksamil is really good in june

Sadly yea, best trips to Albania for me were pre 2010 even.
Luckily Romania and especially Transylvania are still underrated as fuck. So many beautiful places to visit and I never saw many other tourists
Archaeopteryx111@reddit
România is one of the last European countries mostly untouched by tourism. When did you visit?
Albanian_Trademark@reddit
2021,2020 and 2019
timisorean_02@reddit
I first visited in 2016, people were still unaware of Albania back then. At least, that is how I saw the country.

Croatia west and south

For Romania it's obviously Transilvania, they have castles, mountains, forests, caves, palaces, a lot of medieval buildings and the most important thing (for me) old city centers, that give you a cozy vibe to just sit down and have a few beers or a coffee.

The Mediterranean and Canary Islands

I love the south but I’ve seen some footage from the Komani lake with those cliffs around in Northern Albania that eerily remind me of Thailand

I don't know. Southwestern part, Western part, North Western Part and Northern path are but which one is more I don't know.
crivycouriac@reddit
Based on touristic promotions, one would think that Ljubljana is the easternmost town in Slovenia
AdrianOfRivia@reddit
Montenegro is also the South along the coast. Towns such as Budva for the parties or Kotor for the old city and the bay.
North is good if you like mountains and nature tho

Toss up between Istria and Dubrovnik region.

Cities especially are way more beautiful architecturally than in the north, Tirana is okay, Durrës has SO MUCH potential but currently its not that well maintained, Lezha, Kukës, Dibra are not beautiful, Shkodra is okay too.
