1997 PC putting in an impressive performance there, this looks playable.

To me it felt rather sticky, but not as unplayable as certain other games I've thrown at the poor 1997 PC. I am certain some people played it that way back in the day. The truly interesting thing would be to compare the N64 version to these.

The N64 version runs more smoothly.

Curious how a comparison would be of UltraHLE on these 3 setups ;-) I remember playing n64 on a pentium 166 with 3DFX card not long after discovering zsnesā¦it rocked my world back then š

not much has changed, you still need buy every 5 years a new pc
cndctrdj@reddit
Thats not the truth. Tech moved at an insane pace back then today you could run a card from 10 to 15 years ago without issue.

Yup running an 8 year old rtx2080 and not perceiving any requirement to change unless it dies. CPU 6 years old, same deal not seeming taxed.

This is one of my favourite racing games ever. It's so fast and fun.

Dude, when are you going to share the specs of that 1997 PC ?
Because something is def. off.
My K6-2 @ 233 , with 3Dfx Voodoo 1 def. runs with a better frame rate , which makes no sense because a P MMX should be faster on paper. So unless you disabled some caches or your motherboard is a PC Chips with fake cache , then I don't understand why it's running so bad.

I will check literally in 10 minutes after I post this and DM you what I find.

why compare a 2001 game on such machines? p3 800mhz was default wen win 98 came out
