The coolest finds won't be found on the Internet. They're tucked away, under layers of dust, in warehouses, garages, barns, and backroads, not on dealer lots.

That Impala SS for 3500 is tempting but 215k miles on those LT1s makes me nervous about the Optispark failing
Frank_TA_Z28@reddit
If it fails, change it. It is not a death sentence. Its just a pain in the ass to change distributor.

GT6 owner here. For about 3k more you can get a complete driver.

Cool! I’ve seen very few on the road. The one thing that stuck in my mind was “holy cow that’s tiny!” What’s it like driving a GT6?
shady_mcgee@reddit
It's incredibly tiny. I'm about 6'1" so I don't really enter or exit the car as much as I fold myself in to it. Still have about an inch of clearance to the roof, though, but I've definitely hit some bigger bumps and launched my cranium into it.
When sitting at a light next to a truck my eye level is typically under the fenders, or around door handle height to a Corolla.
It's a blast to drive, though. Only about 86 HP (later years like mine were significantly de-tuned compared to the Euro market due to emissions. There are ways to bring the US models up to ~105HP to match the Euros which I'm slowly doing) but drives like a go cart. It's torquey as hell and will do about 70mph at red line in 2nd gear. Only weighs about 1800 lbs so it accelerates acceptably (something around 10s 0-60 at the moment).
Almost no electronics. Everything is manual. Fuel pump, oil pump, carbs and choke. No power steering, no power brakes. 3 fuses in the fuse box.
Absolute dream to work on. Parts are easy to come by and cheap. One of the most accessible engine bays I've ever had the pleasure to work on.
affablenihilist@reddit
I got run over in one. The British racing green isn't easy to see, and mine just got stepped on. Oil truck, I saw it coming and got away enough to not get hurt. What a blast to drive. Be careful in that thing.
shady_mcgee@reddit
Yeah. One of the guys in my Triumph club was run over once. I got mine painted bright orange, and a loud exhaust, so that hopefully I'm both seen and heard

That 3000 GT is nice-the 5 speed manual are very fun cars!
That Celica is an absolute steal if it checks out. Friend of mine put over 400,000 miles on hers with no issues before she sold it.
Cardiff-Giant11@reddit
good finds. the prices and condition i’m a little suspicious but the Celica, 3000 GT, and Mazda 6 would all be on my radar if i was in the area and in the market.

Cool project list!
If I could build one on a budget, it might be the Triumph, with an uncommon engine swap. Maybe a rotary or a 1.0L EcoBoost.
