Thanks, here’s a snippet explaining it for anyone curious:
Landy is fascinated by the way we tend to disappear into our own bubble on the Tube, disconnected from the people around us. One day, he recalls, while sitting in a Tube train absorbed in his own world, he suddenly became aware of two strangers, one trying to help the other. For Landy it was a life-enhancing event. He considered how easy it would have been for the person helping to look away. And he wondered what inspires a stranger to be kind to another: what motivates someone to step out of their bubble and go out of their way to help a person they don’t know? He created this project as a way of capturing and exploring what happens in that moment.
Landy defines kindness as going beyond yourself to acknowledge someone else’s needs and feelings. Being kind to a stranger involves sharing that sense of connection with someone you don’t know.
Determined to use chopsticks. Failing at using them. Someone seen me struggling and taught me how to use them, she was really nice. We ended up meeting the next night for a while as we were both there alone for a trip.
It makes me wonder how different my life could have been if I had the confidence she had to help me. It’s also made me realise how big of a knock on effect one decision to speak to someone can have.
Your life isn't over. Take this new-found kindness and exhibit it daily from this point forwards. Even just a smile and a hello are usually enough to brighten someone's demeanor.
There are many different kinds of people in this world but the worst kind ruin it for the rest. They aren't bad they just have an Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD)and if they dont learn kindness and mindfulness, then they tend towards ruthlessness and bad actions. They are the kind of people who call out kindness and belittle it.
Other people are the opposite, they are empathetic, sympathetic and kind because that's how their brain works but they get the label woke.
Then there's people somewhere in the middle who can easily go bad or good but they take a lot of influence from whatever is their environment and immediate peers. They are malleable and those with APD can manipulate them well.
Unfortunately the Human mind for most is a selfish thing and survival instincts and APDs easily influence this third selections hatefulness and vengefulness.
The internet has allowed the worst kind to be able to combine and flourish. Now in 2026 when humanity has so much history, knowledge and instant access to much of it people choose to believe lies, deny the truth and allow badness to evolve if it suits their mood and agenda.
Looks like a sign they forgot to remove that was placed on the seat during the Covid19 pandemic... but it also means they have been too lazy to remove it 🙄
Looks to me like someone trying to visually depict the separation of the individual from others and the world around them via the ego, although I possess exactly none of the technical language that describes that concept
I think it's probably a remnant of the COVID-19 thing, asking you to leave an empty seat between yourself and the next passenger, kind of a self imposed social distancing thingy.

I was in London by myself a few weeks ago.
Determined to use chopsticks. Failing at using them. Someone seen me struggling and taught me how to use them, she was really nice. We ended up meeting the next night for a while as we were both there alone for a trip.
