Friendly suggestion for ebike recommendation posts

Thanks to everyone who posts here. Personally, I do not mind the “which ebike should I get?” posts. For a lot of people, this sub is one of the best places to start. That said, I also understand why those posts can get frustrating for some people when the same questions come up over and over.
If you are going to make a recommendation post, it would help a lot if you include these 3 things:
- Budget: Include both what you want to pay and the absolute max you are willing to pay.
- Your country: If you do not include it, people will probably assume you are in the USA.
- How far you want to ride: Even a rough estimate helps.
It also helps to mention whether you want pedals, and whether you want a mid-drive instead of a hub motor.
The more details you include, the better recommendations people can give, and the less back-and-forth is needed.
Disclaimer: I used ChatGPT to polish the wording (and grammar), but I wrote the whole thing myself first. 🫠

also add the type of riding/terrain to the list

1,000 feet elevation gain at 8% grade uphill on the way there, and 1 switchback, and 12 miles 1 way. I want to pedal and no throttle. L3-4-L5 Fusion and in July getting right side Sacroiliac Joint fusion. Then the left side. 😉🍯

Segway Xyber with the extra battery. You're welcome.

Hills a big part. It's flat where I am .
RichGuarantee7482@reddit (OP)
most 500w motors can handle hills. but i added it to the list.
East_Worldliness2287@reddit
Think they play games with the motor rating . 500 is actually 350, 750 is 500 lol.
RichGuarantee7482@reddit (OP)
Yea. Most 750w motors can hit 28 mph but one of my 750w ebikes cant get past 25.

Budget: flexible
Pedals: maybe. Depends
Range: max max max
What's the best bike overall that's reliable, fast, can maybe carry spare battery, install pannier, go uphill, etc
I had a swytch kit but having some trouble with it.
Was considering Aotos kickstarter. Might figure out some other options. DIY or some brands I can get locally serviced, etc
Hoping for good range, suspension, maneuver, pannier if possible,
Or a kit I can easily swap between bikes. Maybe I could try one of those exoskeleton things you put on your hips and legs.
If it's too heavy, I won't be able to lift onto a sidewalk curb as much. But if the bike can go fast and is powered enough to make commutes less work, I could adjust style to wait around and not take shortcuts quite as much.

GT73 or the GT73 Pro has dual batteries and goes faster than your standard ebikes.
bubbleboix@reddit
More of a motorbike appearance, could add up with going a bit fast on sidewalks. Might not look great.
Someone also mentioned Onyx or some brands at local stores.
But Aotos is on kickstarter. Should I just go for that since it's lower price currently? I could consider something else next year or so.

You may get some stares on pitbike style bikes. I once had a lady start a cursing at me at the park even though i was only going 15 mph.
I have a lot of moped style ebikes. These meet most of your needs: Riding Times Z8 Pro, TST R9 or R002. You just have to get a bit creative with the panniers.

This post makes it make sense why every reccomendation post hovers at zero.
Actually might follow these guidelines and ask myself, since I'll be in the market for an ev myself.
thephotoman@reddit
Yeah, there’s definitely a placement system we need to talk about.
It doesn’t help that half of them are also looking for unicorns.
RichGuarantee7482@reddit (OP)
hopefully nobody is in a bad mood and tells you to get a regular bike
Lajak_Anni@reddit
Jokes on them, I already have an acoustic. I CANT upgrade it. The frame is that old. So its a new one for me.
Laserdollarz@reddit
I have two 30 year old pedal bikes and they rip
Lajak_Anni@reddit
I don't plan on getting rid of the acoustic. I just want an upgrade so I gwt to work easier and faster.
Laserdollarz@reddit
I feel ya, I commute on my ebike and wouldn't on my others lol. Old bikes are a blast.

"I used ChatGPT to polish the wording (and grammar), but I wrote the whole thing first. Also the joke at the end of my conclusion was mine but Chatgpt made it "reddit friendly""
WHY do people do this? This is stupid, don't do it.
Also, you left out a very important thing, which is how fast do they want to go as part of their range requirements as well as how much they want to pedal.
Range estimates are worthless without that information. Like if you are willing to pedal hard at bicycle speeds, nearly all bikes will give you at least a 40 mile range. But if you want to go close to 30mph with little to no pedaling effort, the range will be dramatically lower.

i included the disclaimer because i was getting annoyed by all the karma farming bots. It would've been hypocritical if i didnt include it.
I also wrote "If you want to ride throttle-only and do not plan to pedal, mention that too." You can then extrapolate range at max speed at 28 mph on a 750w motor. It's not that hard especially for a genius like you.
BassesNBikes@reddit
If you don't want pedals you may be on the wrong place.
RichGuarantee7482@reddit (OP)
check the sub description. if you cant read, let me know.
Laserdollarz@reddit
2nd rule of ebikes: do not expect people to read the rules instead of making up their own
BassesNBikes@reddit
There's a sub for toy motorcycles, too.
Ok-Type-8917@reddit
Also maybe add where you are storing it, do you need folding, and do you want a removable battery.
RichGuarantee7482@reddit (OP)
i think people asking for removable batteries is rare
CaterpillarKey6288@reddit
This just doesn't apply here. People get on here all the time asking for recommendations for what to buy but give no info on what they need or can afford. One of my favorite is ereaders, they will say recommend me a ereader but only give you very basic info. Not as many ereaders as there are ebikes but there are sill a lot of different ones.
RichGuarantee7482@reddit (OP)
lol just tell them to get an ipad
