Hi everyone, I have to choose between these three bikes and they all have the same specifications and same price. Which one do you think I should choose as my first bike?

They all have the same specifications and same price
MagicalPeanut@reddit
Whichever one is sold and supported by your LBS.
Super-Frame677@reddit
And overpay for the same bike and maintenance that many people can do themselves with a bit of research? I'm good.
MagicalPeanut@reddit
It’s not about the maintenance as much as it’s about access to parts. With some of the off-brands, getting ahold of parts is difficult.
Super-Frame677@reddit
Many off-brands can use universal generic parts, but they definitely can be a little tricky to find. I do get your point though. Personally I'd rather DIY as much as possible if it saves me even a little bit of money, that's why I'm putting together my own build. That way I know what part is which and how to replace it. Honestly if OP has the time to put into learning, that's what I'd recommend them to do.
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
All of them
Razrgrrl@reddit
I’d keep looking, these aren’t street legal.
Super-Frame677@reddit
They are literally all legal. Where are you finding this info?
Razrgrrl@reddit
These do not appear to meet the criteria for 1, 2 and 3 class e-bikes.
Super-Frame677@reddit
From what I can find, yes they do. Care to elaborate and explain which parts are non-compliant instead of just making baseless statements? My bad if I'm wrong here, but those bikes seem to meet all criteria.
Razrgrrl@reddit
These don’t look like bikes, at all. They look like mini mopeds. Specs are not listed so it would take more searching to determine but generally the no name made in china mini motorcycles don’t meet the requirements. Typically they have ornamental pedals, overpowered batteries (needed for the heavy AF frame) and usually exceed both power and speed. The fact that they don’t look at all like bikes and are not any recognizable brand is what I’m going off.
Super-Frame677@reddit
Looks don't matter in legality, specs do. Doesn't matter if the batteries are huge, or if they're heavy and overweight frames.
Razrgrrl@reddit
Specs aren’t listed. I’m going by looks, these look like e-motos with frames too heavy to move without battery assist. If thats what you’re looking for, go wild.
Super-Frame677@reddit
Well I'm saying that you cannot just say "these aren't street legal" without knowing specs. There are plenty of similar looking bikes that are perfectly legal. You cannot judge legality based off looks. Can't believe I need to explain this twice.
Also the point of an e-bike for many people is to not pedal nearly as much. Not saying everyone has that mindset, but many do. Thus, it does not matter how heavy the bike is.
Razrgrrl@reddit
Look if that’s what you want to ride, go right ahead. I’m not stopping you. Just at a glance, these don’t look like they’d meet spec for 1,2, or 3 according to the rules I have to follow.
Super-Frame677@reddit
Here's a pic of the listed specs of the second bike OP showed. 250w and goes 25kmh. That's legal pretty much everywhere unless you live in a country with incredibly over strict laws. I'm not sure where you are in the world but in the USA and Canada batteries don't legally need any certification or anything as far as I know, though it's highly recommended and some local regulations for certain places mandate it. I'm just speaking about my own country's laws and the USA laws. If it's different for you then that's my bad.
Had to resend this reply a couple times, reddit is being weird for me.
Razrgrrl@reddit
I should not have judged by looks alone. You’re right that speed and motor are within limits. My state has additional regulations for batteries (UL certification) (in California) but I’m not the one riding it, you are.
Super-Frame677@reddit
It really just depends on where OP is, those bikes are legal in most places but illegal in a few others.

Why
Razrgrrl@reddit
Unless you’re not planning on riding on streets? If it’s for off road and you’re only risking your own life, do you.
Riding something like this in traffic you run the risk of them getting confiscated. Accidents on these types of vehicles are far more dangerous for everyone.
Those of us riding e-bikes that do meet the legal classification system are getting targeted with more and more restrictive legislation, because of the dangerous behavior of people riding things like what is pictured here— IE, miniature motorcycles with no license or registration. Often ridden by riders who either don’t know or don’t care about road safety and traffic laws. It endangers everyone.
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
In my country, the electric bike limit is 250W and 25km/h. And this is not enough. But according to your opinion, I'll buy an electric bike.
Razrgrrl@reddit
Maybe it’s different where you live. where I live, these aren’t street legal. They’re usually ridden by young kids and teenagers without driving licenses who do dangerous tricks in traffic. Accidents have increased a great deal and are far more serious, sometimes deadly. A pedestrian was killed near where I live, struck by an unlicensed vehicle like those pictured. As a result there are tightening restrictions on the street legal class 1-3 e-bikes and where they can be used.
Relative-Display-676@reddit
First one has failures in folding mechanism that injures riders.
Second one has failures in welds where frame meets headset that injures riders.
Third one I haven't seen any catastrophic failures, yet...
I would avoid all 3, but if you HAVE to get one, get 3rd one.
PleaseAndThankuu@reddit
Thanks for your comment, im a bit nervous my brother has the same white label ebike thats in the second pic and now I wont assume everythings fine because its made of steel in the future.
I made him take pictures of all the welds and the frame for later comparison, im hoping there would be warning signs before it snaps
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Thx
maria5612@reddit
No soy la autora del post pero tengo curiosidad por esto, lo podrías explicar mejor? 😊
Relative-Display-676@reddit
These are the common failure points in first two bikes.
suthrnplayalisticbmx@reddit
I have a very similar to middle one its an ouxi model. Its so nimble and fun to ride. Not for trails. Sidewalks and streets. Its kinda tall. Nice to have vision. Not a wheelie bike. Cruiser.
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Thank you
kuulenkylla@reddit
I wouldn’t buy any of them, use money more wisely or buy a proper non-elec bike 😅
Brother1962@reddit
For what it’s worth, I have short legs and had major surgery so a step thru is pretty much my only option! It’s so much easier to get on and off a bike, so I would choose the thurd bike. This is what I bought…
munteanumn@reddit
3rd one, with the pass through frame with 2 person seat looks the most solid and the most comfortable.
Worried_Document8668@reddit
still none of them, no matter how many times you open up another thread.
Save your money for something better or get a non-electric bike is still the answer
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Okay, fine, since you know so much, suggest something to me.
Worried_Document8668@reddit
copy of my replay to your last thread:
"don't get any of those. all just cheap oem rebadging.
look for some of the usual suspects like gazelle, specialized, riese&müller, orbea, ktm, cube...depending on where you are"
you don't give any info where ypu are located, so it's hard to get nore detailed
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
I live in Türkiye and these brands don't ship products to my country. I checked them all.
Worried_Document8668@reddit
because they are bicycle brands with dealerships. you buy them from regional distributors and dealerships for crying out loud
specialized in türkiye for example: https://aktifpedal.com/
most brands have a dealership search on their site. use that to find what's available near you. Or just go to a real bicycle store. Not some online-marketplace
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
I checked the "find nearest dealer" option for all brands, and the closest one was 1281 kilometers away.
Worried_Document8668@reddit
and those brands are just examples: trek, giant, canyon, cannondale, santa cruz, pinarello, bianchi...sooo many out there
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
İ have money recommend some
East_Worldliness2287@reddit
Why small wheels and fat tire ? Not as efficient
East_Worldliness2287@reddit
What is the motor size, battery and gears ?
Necessary-Break5978@reddit
None, they look like they are not worth buying, which Chinese store website where they advertise on
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Recommend me some in my country
SoapyTeats@reddit
Seems to be a Turkish company. https://www.t-bike.com/en/electric-bicycle
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Yeah
mrsandzz@reddit
The step over(3rd one), strong frame, easy to get on, off. Looks great. room for a second battery up front.
RunLatter9446@reddit
Great choice going with a folding fat tire ebike for your first one!
Make sure to check the battery capacity (Ah) and whether replacement
batteries are easy to source — that's often overlooked and can get
expensive later. Good luck with your decision!
LargeNerdKid@reddit
The second one for easy of removal of battery
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Thank you
LargeNerdKid@reddit
And the foldable one is very heavy for its size
t0ukoz@reddit
I would go with the second one because it has a lot more universal parts, which makes it much easier and cheaper to replace anything if it breaks, and it doesn’t have a moving rear suspension, which is often low quality and prone to breaking.
Professional-Use3207@reddit (OP)
Thank you
goldbeater@reddit
Full suspension would be my choice.
Dmanthirtyseven@reddit
3rd one looks best. Has front rack.
marcusg101@reddit
I would say the second one.
atlasraven@reddit
The 1st looks the best.
