CFIIs charging on ground zoom?

How much are cfi/cfiis charging for ground on zooms nowadays? I haven’t done private instructing for a while (stay at home mom currently) and I have a couple people interested in doing zoom grounds. For reference I’m a 6 year cfi and 100% pass rate Arizona and Illinois resident. Thanks!

Instrument is my specialty. I love weather and ifr flight planning/procedures. Even taught some dpes and cfiis in AZ some things 😂 I’ll charge ya $40 a ground if ur interested. Seems to be a fair margin off this post

Jesus $40/hr? This is why folks can't make a living at instructing. Are really charging what you are worth?
Youtube is free, and some channels are great resources.

If you’re actually good at it, you can ask for more and not lose clientele.

Exactly same price as for any instruction, it’s all a use of my time.

This is the only answer, work is work if you let them arbitrage rates between ground, flight and premium flight ( IR, multi) you'll find yourself prioritizing the students who pay more

The problem.. last time I instructed in 2024 I was paid $25 / hr and that was under a part 61 school. Last time I contracted in was in 2020 when schools weren’t hiring do I was charging $25 / hr too and was told I was “cheap” 😂 but I also was ferrying flights on the side across the country so I really didn’t care for hours and I still don’t.

I'd cut rate if it meant not having to drive

$50/hr was my going rate back in the pandemic. I’d probably charge a lil more now if I went back to it

$40-$50/hr

Thanks. Crazy because I use to do it for $25 back in 2023. Definitely shorted myself desperate for money 😅

There’s a lot of undercutting on the market rn with low time CFIs not in work. That said if you are experienced and a good teacher not worried about working 24/7 charge what you are worth
Thomas-Ligotti97@reddit
I usually try to do roughly $50/hr
Pretty low than what you’ll usually find but it’s not my specialty

Depends on the task/subject matter.
But pretty much same rate I use for in person work.

I don’t wanna do that, soooo $90? $60 seems like a fair price. Look at what the local schools are billing per hour and be under that since you’re not leaving home.
Reasonable_Hippo9163@reddit
$80 minimum
