How much would roadside charge to top off my wiper fluid?

Company decided they were to cheap to let us add wiper fluid to our EFS card so I'm thinking about teaching them a lesson.

Idk but I was next the the loves mechanic when he got a phone call from someone who ran out of fuel. They were only like 15-20 miles away but it was $410 and they only got like 10 gallons of fuel for that. That was also when fuel was about $1.5-$2 cheaper tho

Bro this is actually genius lmao 😂 They gonna learn real quick when they get that $200 roadside bill for something that costs like 3 bucks at gas station. I did similar thing back in day when my unit tried to cheap out on basic maintenance stuff - sometimes you gotta make the math work in your favor so they understand the real costs 💀

Yeah it's the final straw for me. First they stopped letting us get the trucks washed at the beacon, then last month I went out of pocket $75 for antifreeze to limp home with a blown head gasket so as to save them a tow bill. At this point I'm like fuck it, win stupid prizes.
ThermalChaser@reddit (OP)
No I didn't feel like arguing with them they still owe me 20 bucks for a mug flap from 3 months ago
nicerakk@reddit
I had an ex I wanted to put one of those on
meizhong@reddit
You supposed to wash a company truck yourself? Hahaahhaha
I would never ever wash that bitch again.
ThermalChaser@reddit (OP)
Who said anything about washing it. It's been collecting grime for 4 months.
ChiTruckDGAF@reddit
Schneider gave us a yearly wash, I would save it for after winter.
DblDtchRddr@reddit
Back when I was with TMC, they'd shut you down if you didn't get the truck washed every 2 weeks. My current outfit covers it once a month, but it's entirely "if you want to".
ThermalChaser@reddit (OP)
How magnanimous
bezm12@reddit
One time they told me my truck was dirty. I'm like yeah what do you want me to do about it, the company doesn't pay for truck washes. They told me the company does pay for truck washes. I said I don't care if you pay Blue beacon for the truck wash, you don't pay me, I don't own a Blue Beacon.
bezm12@reddit
Mine was unwashed for nearly 2 years before I ended up changing companies.
meizhong@reddit
Damn right.
Another fa&fo moment for the company when their whole fleet is just dirt colored and wires failing and shit.
325trucking@reddit
Damn everyone told me my 1st company was bottom of the barrel but we got 2 blue beacon washes per month for shitty old cascadias
awesomeperson882@reddit
At the same time, there’s a reason those shitty Cascadia’s become shitty old Cascadia’s

Did you save your receipts? I would assume any decent company would have reimbursed you and thanked you for bringing truck home...
qaf0v4vc0lj6@reddit
I called roadside out for a headlight one time when a company I drove for insisted I get it replaced at the company yard when I came back for my 34 at home (four days from then).
breesearedelicious@reddit
Or Uber the washer fluid
breesearedelicious@reddit
Maybe you could order washer fluid on doordash?
jackinthecracker@reddit
Thay sounds like a bad company. I come out of pocket for little things like that but I get reimbursed the following week
Tricky_Big_8774@reddit
On one hand, it's the principle of the matter. On the other hand, why are you getting bent out of shape over $7 every couple months?
MarmotWorldOrder@reddit
My mega won't pay for paid parking and I have to defend and ask for (beg for) layover lay. No way in hell I'm spending a dime of my money for things they should be paying for. They don't pay me enough for that. My toll pass wasn't working, they reimbursed me for it after I brought it up.
ThermalChaser@reddit (OP)
All they had to do was pay us a living wage
Appropriate_Gur_6642@reddit
Just don’t set anything on fire 😂

Haha

This wouldn't happen to be the big blue screw by chance? Right before I left them, they were not allowing trucks to be serviced for oil changes or 60 day inspections outside of their terminal shops. Was late to an appointment at one of the terminal shops due to a flat tire discovered during pre trip. I got stuck at the terminal for 10 days because they said there were no open appointments until then. Despite everything I tried to do from asking if i could run loads locally to switiching my truck to getting the service done at a TA or petro or somthing. They wouldn't let me budge. I idled thru a two tanks of fuel sitting in their yard. The whole time using their wifi to find a new job. Now im much happier where im at, hauling gassoline local out of Charlotte and home everyday.
MarmotWorldOrder@reddit
Is big blue screw Werner?
homucifer666@reddit
Only catch I can see is if you get pulled over for something else, get inspected, and you're bingo on washer fluid. Then it's more than just your company's problem.
ThermalChaser@reddit (OP)
LOL better safe than sorry
PearlMillingCompany@reddit
TA is usually $160/hr, including drive time to and from. 2$ a mile and the cost of parts. TA/Petro stopped doing roadside but they will come to a parking lot. Wiper fluid is something mechanics are supposed to check during DOT inspections at TA, and a vehicle will fail the inspection if the wipers don’t spray fluid.
Rare_Indication_3811@reddit
If I remember correctly they will charge 3h on start. Then show up without anything, check you dont have wiper fluid. Then disappear to get a wiper fluid for 2h. Then bring one gallon, check its not enough and go get another. After coming back they will put correct amount of wiper fluid. Send you i voice include all 6h because it was 5.1 and they charging every starting hour, add fuel fee, part charge, part stocking charge, government tax, state tax, ideology tax, because i said so tax, i will charge your kidney charge for amount of 1295$ after 10% discount for being dedicated customer.
doobersthetitan@reddit
My company doesn't want us add oil, transmission fluid etc. To the trucks, they want us to call it in and do it thru our company.
3qts of transmission fluid plus 2 wiper blades cost $ 225. Plus 2 hours of pay for my wait lol
nastyzoot@reddit
Their comeout fee, plus mileage, plus every bottle they opened, plus labor. $400 at the least.
ThermalChaser@reddit (OP)
Sure could buy a lot of fluid woth that.
StandForAChange@reddit
You’re an idiot
