1998 Benz C43 saved from death…

I found this MB C43 for sale on FB marketplace and couldn’t resist. As a benz tech for 20 years I have always wanted to own one. I had one almost 10 years ago but sold to buy a house… This needed way more work than I thought but, I finally got her road worthy. Endless hours working on this thing just to get running and safe for the road. The worst was once running I found a fuel leak from a hard line under the rear subframe that required dropping the rear subframe and components. Finally on the road and running like a champ. Just wanted to share. Much more work still needed but I feel like I saved a unicorn.

Love a C43. Almost pulled the trigger on one but a good deal on a C55 came up. MB’s of those eras were fantastic.

The golden era, the 113 engine with 722.6 trans is bulletproof!!! Enjoy the 55, eventually I’d like to put a 55k in her🤞

I was literally about to ask if you had plans to eventually put a 55 in it, and I scrolled to see this comment.
These were my first taste of AMG Benz back in the day and they’ve held a soft spot ever since. Enjoy that beautiful unit.

Nice!! I learned to work on cars on my '99 C43. I ended up putting a 5.4 M113 Evo in it. The car is absolute riot to drive.

That's from the golden age of the Benz. Except car! How much did it cost?

Car was $3k U.S. non running. Came with rust and rodents. I’ve spent about another $3k in parts, hard to say labor hours but it’s a lot.
