Do you think General Motors should sell something like this as a production vehicle to go up against the Wrangler and Bronco?

Where do they get the 2.8 diesel from? The GM Thailand plant was closed a few years ago.
bigev007@reddit
They make it in Brazil now
Slideways@reddit
The production version is a Colorado ZR2.
Resident_Skroob@reddit
Ding ding! It's a Colorado from the powertrain down to the wheels.
bigev007@reddit
Well no, cause the Colorado diesel is dead
Bonerchill@reddit
Yeah, I’m thinking, “well, they kinda already do.”
PristineFarmer8989@reddit (OP)
Kinda, but not an open top truck.
gregortheii@reddit
A sawzall will fix that real quick.

This is American innovation

This is what happens when we watch Bam and Billy Idol add a sunroof to a lamborghini in the middle 2000s
Powerful_Abalone1630@reddit
How much is a sawzall?

I wish there was a civilian version of the oskosh s-atv

If you got a Colorado ZR2:
Take off doors. Install rollcage. Obviously a lot I've left out involving that idea. But that's what a street legal version of this would be.
All things considered, they could maybe sell this as a side-by-side? Cause we ain't getting it on the street as some normies OP.
PristineFarmer8989@reddit (OP)
With the prices for top SxS these days, they probably could sell a few of these

A million dollar “defense infantry squad vehicle” to go up against a fucking wrangler and bronco, both of which might very well be in the shop this very moment on another check engine light and/or recall?
Yeah sure why not.
PristineFarmer8989@reddit (OP)
He paid $1 million because it was a charity auction. I don't mean this exact vehicle, I mean an open top production truck inspired by the styling.
racer_24_4evr@reddit
Yeah this is what he does. He buys VIN #1 Corvettes because they’re always a charity auction.
Blue_Owl_420@reddit
I think the production models are $330,000.
PristineFarmer8989@reddit (OP)
That’s based on a low volume military contract with long term maintenance support and a specialized manufacturing facility. GM is capable of building retail SUVs for the same price as Jeep and Ford.
lunaticfridgeprime@reddit
No.

The Dollarama parking won't even know what hit it.
Syncrion@reddit
I do think GM should build a vehicle to rival the Bronco/Wrangler but I think it will be the rumoured GMC Jimmy. Not this.
hi_im_bored13@reddit
Doesn't that just turn into a hummer
& a gas version of that in this economy is a bit much
18voltbattery@reddit
More of a Warthog than Hummer
