I am not sure Croatians really consider Albanians as brothers nor do we.
Crypto-KeeperALB@reddit
They are our closet allies in the Balkans. Only Turk loving weirdo Albanians would think otherwise
Ujemegaz@reddit
Albanoans fight for others, instead of fighting for themselves.
Unusual_Emergency_13@reddit
Not sure where you got that but I have worked woth them for quite a long time. Croats will accept their pseaudo arch enemies, Serbs, any day of the week, over Albanians.
Albanians are not very liked in ex-yugo. There might not be open hostilities but we are very far from liked, let alone brothers.
As for turks, worked for them when in eagle mobile. They are OK, dare I say better than our neighbors.
Usual-Package7120@reddit
Who is Croatia's brother and who is Albania's brother? In Ur opinion since we are on this thread lol
True-Blacksmith4235@reddit
I find it very triggering that you put Croatian flag first.
Usual-Package7120@reddit
Well I was born there, but I'm orthodox, and then war. So. Yes. 🤣
True-Blacksmith4235@reddit
Jk jk
Usual-Package7120@reddit
I know I know, our nationalism can be laughed at tho haha
Unusual_Emergency_13@reddit
Appart from Kosovo, none really. There isn't much talk about it in general.
I have worked and work with all balkaners, except Romanians.
Never felt like, wow, we are really alike. Croatia and Croatians are quite far from Albania, not only geographically but also as people.
Usual-Package7120@reddit
That's true, I feel like you're not THAT far apart from everyone at the same time also, feels as though mostly politics and the past 40 or so years have a lot to do with the feelings of difference between everyone tbh
Unusual_Emergency_13@reddit
Croatia, Slovenia and BiH apear very rarely in our lives so not enough info to like or dislike. Even Serbia doesn't get much attention, other than football. As for NMK, not much either, generally more about NMK Albanians than NMK slavs.
This, Croatia - Albania brotherhood seem quite cringe to me.
Usual-Package7120@reddit
Fair enough
Basmentmon@reddit
We should let mercedes and tribalism bring us together not divide us
Unusual_Emergency_13@reddit
Maybe in the old times, Mercedes was popular in HR. First time I was in Zagreb was in 2019 and didn't see that many Benzes, unlike Albania.
Yes, the whole region is quite tribal, but Albanians are quite a lot more than the rest.
NidzoMadjija@reddit
It's based on "we dun like serbz" and being fashy little basedbois that larp as their great grandparents from SS divisions skanderbeg and hanjar, or being ottoman conquerors, or the being deathcamp operators in the case of croats
As for Greeks and Serbs, it's a history of mostly close relations spanning over 1300 years
Usual-Package7120@reddit
Should have added Romanians into the serbo-hellenic love shack. Love those people too ❤️
NidzoMadjija@reddit
True, if someone deserves it it's the romabros
Hope we get to develop another jet with them someday

Hmmm I wouldn't call them "brothers" in any way possible. I think that they also have a negative view of each other, both have greater hate for the third side. For example:
1. Albania-Croatia: common hate for Serbia and the Serbian nation, both most people in Croatia proper have a general dislike for Albanians (mostly from those who hail from Kosovo). Albanians who are predominantly Muslim with minority of Christian Roman Catholic and Orthodox dislike Bosnian Muslims (especially from the Sandžak region in Serbia and Montenegro) with the Croats also hating Bosnian Muslims. As long as common aversion to Serbia exists this makes them common allies, both not brothers in any way.
2. Serbia-Greece: common hate for Albanian and Turkish nations, as well as it's people! Both are fellow Christian Orthodox nations with a history of fighting a common enemy through nineteenth and twentieth century, both the Hellen's have a great dislike of neighboring Slavic nations, especially against Bulgarians and Macedonians whom they constantly point as the main culprits who have taken their history and reduced their territory to what it is today. Serbs also dislike Bulgarians very much, both have mixed feeling when it comes to Macedonians and it's statehood. Quite an exotic pair of allies if you ask me, both I think that the two would clash the moment their border come in contact, let's hope that scenario never comes.
3. The Turkish people generally have a dislike of Balkan nations, and considered themself superior in every way when comparing themselves to this part of the world. The Bosnian Muslims who live in Bosnia & Herzegovina are split between those who have positive views of Turkey, while others see them as occupiers who forcibly converted to Islam and eradicated their autochthonous "church of Bosnia". The Bosnian Muslims generally hate the Croats as well as the Serbs, the Turks generally have good relations with Serbia on the economic side, similar political systems and are welcome guest in Belgrade, be they tourists or foreign workers looking for work. Not to forget that Bosnia & Herzegovina has given asylum to members of the "Gülen movement" who are currently in conflict with the Turkish regime. These are dysfunctional allies who are split how to act than they are to come to an agreement is going to take charge
In the Balkans there really is no middle ground, it simply can't be because these people think more with their hearts than their brains...and that is going to stay that way until the end of times comes!
TheRedBaron-7@reddit
Please let this be ragebait
AcolythusLatinus@reddit
It is not! I am simply expressing my opinion, based on my life in the Balkans
TheRedBaron-7@reddit
Turks don't dislike Balkan nations. Most simply don't care, and if anyone has any opinion, is mostly positive because we share many basic cultural values. I have met countless Greeks and Serbs in Greece and Serbia and Greeks and Serbs visiting Turkey, and there is simply no hate whatsoever. The only thing I can somewhat agree on is Albanians looking down on other nations around them.
AcolythusLatinus@reddit
It is simply an opinion I have on the situation. We have a lot of common history both many Turkish ultra-nationalist movements are against the Balkan people and other minorities that are or were part of the Ottoman empire. It is simply a fact, of course there are educated and more open people on both sides of the spectrum, both the history is negative since the Ottoman Empire was the occupying power with a foreign religion being implemented on the local populace! I know that you do not like to compare yourself with your ancestors both these are simply facts. I have expressed my opinion and I will stand in the defense of it!
TheRedBaron-7@reddit
My ancestors lol thank you for making me laugh at these late hours
Hefty_Jaguar4305@reddit

What exactly is a Balkan brotherhood man. People who believe in this stuff aren't real and exclusively online in my opinion. I went to multiple places in the Balkans, and one thing I learned (I knew these before, they were just confirmed) is that if you get along with someone it doesn't matter where you from. No Serb cared about me being Turkish, so did no Greek nor Croatian nor or no 'brotherly' Bosnian. The only things that matter are if you are appalling or a genuinely good person to hang out with.
Zackscout22@reddit
Is this that Albanian catholic guy i used to see back in the day
Neutrinomind@reddit
Yeah, even Pripyat couldn’t support the absurd levels of cringe he gives
