Uptown/Wider Dallas - Solo Traveler Recommendations and advice

Hi All,
Looking for some help and insight. going to be staying in Dallas for first half of May. I’ve lived mostly in walkable cities London/NYC/Tokyo. So I’m slightly unsure how things all work in Dallas.
I‘m staying in uptown area (heard it was one of the walkable parts of Dallas). I have down already that I should visit Las Palmas (craving good Mexican/tex-mex as London doesn’t really have it), try some Texan bbq and find a good steak house.
For bars I have down to go to the katy trail ice house, Bowen house and Blackfriars pub (need a good beer bar nearby). And that I need to visit deep ellum for ruins and music. Also that I should check out lower Greenville for bars and the bishops arts district (no idea what to check out in either)
What am I missing, or you would recommend?
Also for safety, am I ok walking back from bars in uptown late at night? or do I need taxis/ubers if leaving a bar and heading home?

skip Black Friar, Standard Pour would be a good fill in anytime you want somewhere for a drink and pretty good food and a decent crowd.
If you really want beer and a social setting hit community brewing.
Terry Blacks for BBQ and then walk around deep ellum in the daytime would be fun as a tourist. It is not S tier, but A tier food with no line and the black margarita is pretty fantastic.
Nailed it with Las Palmas, if you don't have a reservation, don't fret, getting a marg and hanging out front is part of the experience. Also Cache is a dope cocktail bar close by you can check out if the wait is outrageous, but for Las Palmas might just suggest trying to get a spot at the bar. Get the filet fajitas and pour up that butter.
Lower Greenville HG SPLY rooftop would be fun solo and a lot of people who would be up to chat up a stranger, and with sports on, it will be an laid back environment.
West Village would be a fun place to shop and walk around, Namo + Bar Collette is one of the best 1-2 punches in the city, with high end sushi and fantastic cocktail bar. Great boutique style stores and very much dallas. They also recently got a Hudson House if you like oysters and day drinking, and DL Macks (tavern style pizza) which make for a good weather day.
Also if you want a full Dallas experience, the Highland Park Village is pretty much it wrapped up in one place. Hit the monkey bar, bar 31, or the honor bar.
This city is just another outpost of money can't buy taste (like Miami or Scottsdale) so embrace it for what it is and enjoy the people watching.

Thank you, appreciate the thoroughness. And recommendations all sound great.
Sorry to check by community brewing you mean the one at 3110 Commonwealth Dr?

Personally I wouldn’t feel unsafe walking Uptown at any time of day or night, but I’ve also spent a lot of time in the hood at times like 3 AM. Uptown also gives you access to a trolley that I’m fairly certain will take you to some DART rail stops, which can take you to some other walkable areas like downtown. (I’ve also walked downtown at all times of day & night, but might be more hesitant to recommend that to the uninitiated.)

BBQ that’s in the walkable core: Terry Black (Deep Ellum)
Steak that’s in the walkable core: Dakota’s (Downtown)
You’re already going to Katy Trail Ice House but be sure to walk the Katy Trail itself, it’s nice and runs through some of the best parts of the city.
There are lots of us that do the walking/cycling/transit life but Reddit is filled with suburbanites, you’re going to get lots of recommendations for stuff out in the middle of nowhere and a lot of skepticism. Ignore them.
