What place in Plano sells the best pie in the city, in your opinion?
Stevoman@reddit
In Plano proper there are unfortunately not many good pie places. I suggest heading north to Emporium in McKinney, or south to Piefalutin in Garland.
FederalExperience4U@reddit
Can confirm Emporium Pies is good!
Regular_or_BQ@reddit
Emporium is pro ❄️ if that figures into how/where you spend your money.
aoifejeanne@reddit
I’m sure Piefalootin is as well. They had Let’s Go Brandon displayed in their shop when I went in a few years ago.

Yeah I have seen all the recommendations for areas around Plano. I was curious where to go in Plano itself. Thank you though!

I am shocked to not see MeLisa The Pie Lady on this list. Yes, it is technically in The Colony about a mile from the border of Plano, but it is so superior to anything else on this list so far, it warrants a call out. They are the best pies anywhere in north DFW.

I'll probably give this place a try. It's weird that all the places people talk about are outside of Plano city limits. Maybe I should start up a pie shoppe smack in the middle of Plano. I will dominate!!!! Haha it's nice to dream.
Thanks everyone for the answers!

Please do it. Just make sure to have good blackberry pies and blueberry pies too. I'll come every day if you have those.

Blueberry pie is underrated because it's rarely offered. That is my hot pie take lol
ISpeakWhaleDoYou@reddit
Best blueberry pie i ever had was at a random house party of a stranger where they used a lot of orange zest with it. It was unusual and amazing.

Honestly I’m an apple pie enthusiast and this, is strictly my personal opinion, but I have had a LOT of pie all over town over the years. I’ve had the pie shops like emporium, grocery store tier like central market/heb, and my fav apple pies, besides my own, are at lowly Tom Thumb and Sam’s Club (over Costco for pie) for overall taste, crumb, apple portion, and value.
There is no better value if you really need to down a large apple pie than the pie at Sam’s Club.
Tom Thumb has my top overall pie if you get them on a good day when they are making the caramel apple pies. They clear the Central Market/HEB other grocery store offerings. You can call the bakery and ask when they are fresh, then wait an hour or two past that for them to sit because even though sometimes I like a fresh hot pie, giving it time to set before getting those glorious creations home is best.
But overall, a homemade pie will always beat it once you get it down. But I get it sometimes I want a low effort apple pie but I don’t want to spend 40 dollars plus for one at a pie shop personally. Honestly most of them like the pie lady, I don’t even care for their pie top crust I prefer lattice, and emporium are just too much. It’s either a gimmick or expensive. It goes against the true spirit of the apple pie. A few apples, TLCrust, and a little magic. Tom Thumb best overall, Sam’s Club for piezilla. The pie man has spoken. Tell one and all the good news.

Fair points! I can't argue with that. But sometimes, kike you said, I just want low effort. I buy something like a pie suuuper rarely but when I do, I want it to be at least good, if not great.

Judy Pie in Grapevine.
Chocolate Malted Pie at Tommy Bahama for something in Plano proper.
ParsonJackRussell@reddit
Judy’s in garland or piefalootin
gremlinowl@reddit
Central Market and HEB have good pies. For the best pies if it's a more special occasion, I recommend Emporium Pies as well.
FUZZB0X@reddit
This, don't sleep on HEB pies.
BlazinAzn38@reddit
Not Plano but MeLisa the Pie Lady in Carrollton is good
Agreeable_Gap_1641@reddit
Came to recommend this place
flilmawinstone@reddit
Sugar and Spice bakery at Parker/Independence Coconut cream is especially amazing
kegster2@reddit
I miss chubbys …. BUT…. Red truck cafe is in the old Chubbys location and I believe they have good homemade pies
Sirsnacksalot23@reddit
Central market has good Apple pies
