... now fast forward as I'm on a business trip and all filled with big plans, head to grocery store to buy oats, PB, frozen fruit, cocoa, etc, and here is the sad result:

Your daughters looks like granola and fruit rather than oats, the fruit also looks fresh

Its overnight oats and that is homemade granola on top she bakes, spiced up perfectly. She is very talented in the kitchen and is able to whip up unique meals/snacks. She gets thr from my wife, amazing cook. I miss home :(

Sounds nice, if you try really hard you could learn to cook too :)

Almost every single day she makes me oats I take a picture of it. I literally have over 50 pictures of sll her recent creations. She asks why I do it, and sometimes I send the pic with a message to show her how much I appreciate it

Well hopefully you’re back home soon and she can make it for you again.

Vanilla yogurt could be a magical touch. I find it basically enhances everything.

I cook my oats in the microwave, if you do it right they turn out very good. Not sure if you cooked them or attempted overnight oats?

Overnight, but not quite "overnight". I was hungry :(

I'd just cook them right before eating them then add everything else, much more enjoyable.
I was lucky hotels i stayed at when working for a while had oatmeal cooked so just scooped and added what I needed.
