Hashbrowns (Aldis) fried in olive oil with a dash of truffle oil.
At some point had way too much oil and started pressing with mashed potato tool to press into a latke but then realized didn’t have enough potatoes.
Thickness: 1/10 it’s like a piece of sugar
Hardness: 7/10 didnt burn as bad as the picture seems that’s just how that pan looks natty
Taste: 8/10 truffle oil really carries it and it’s not overdone but way too oily and my hands are greasy typing this out

Based on the photos I thought you were just melting cheese and then letting it cool before eating it. I hope you sent photos to your wife so she could laugh herself silly.

Until I saw the second image and red the title I thought it was mold in a bowl.

That doesn't look like enough food for even a snack

Native Americans cultivated potatoes for millennia. They were found by explorers who shipped them all over the world. Entire cuisines were built around them, dishes that became cultural icons…. only for you to do THIS to them.

Dead ass thought it was just a pic of a dirty pan
UseDue6373@reddit
Next time you can tilt the pan and soak excess oil with a folded paper towel or two

But the loss of the flavor
UseDue6373@reddit
I meant like 5 seconds after you add in excess oil and notice it

ikik

Why can’t you clean the pan?
TeslaSubmarine@reddit (OP)
It’s one of those always pans and we accidentally scratched it with metal or burning
tunachilimac@reddit
If it’s burnt stuff not scratches it’s worth trying baking soda to scrub it. We have a similar pan that was starting to look a bit like that and I was able to get it looking new again that way.

Good advice maybe I’ll surprise her with a non stained pan!

Lot of work for some thick chips.

As somebody who hates truffle oil, I'm horrified. As a chef of 20 years, though? Also horrified.
