Get the steel mag release. Metal mags will cut a trench into the top of a plastic one. Just a heads up.

These shouldn't though, there's no sharp edges

I was unaware of that. Thanks for the info!

The Mecgar 20 round mag is labeled “anti-friction.” I wonder if that means it won’t be a problem for the mag release.

Maybe if it was just a sharp hole in the wall like for the 43X. When it’s stamped and smooth like these it doesn’t seem to tear it up

I wonder if that’s needed for these. The mag cut out on these are pressed/formed vs just cut out like on others. The shield mags do the Glock 43 were cut outs and that would eat up the plastic mag release. If you look at the new metal mags from Glock for the 43 that are steel the mag cut away is pressed in just like these.

I have some of the 18rd ones for the Glock 19 and haven't had any issues at all

I wish I could say the same, 2 of my mecgar mags I got with my Staccato HD give me issues ranging from failure to feed and double feeds, pretty much only use them for practicing malfunctions and reloads during live fire at this point. One of three works perfectly fortunately.

Same

Last time I checked these were only like $4 less than OEM mags. Hard pass if that's still the case. Lol

I like them and the glock 19 ones. but I only own not-a-glock glock magazine firearms. RXM, Sub-2000, and Polymer80 kits

Mecgar makes factory mags for alot of companies im sure they will be fine

OEM Beretta 92 still to this date I believe

I’ve heard mixed things, like their CZ mags rock and the Glock ones are kinda meh

They are great. I got one of the first runs of them and no problems.
Affectionate_Loan_20@reddit
For me they are okay for the range wouldn’t use them in a professional until proven to work like the oem ones

They run fine but when I'm doing magdumps I can feel that baseplate hit off the bottom of my hand and change the recoil impulse.
I think its fine if you decide to run them exclusively, but if you mix mags or are required to carry different mags for work I'd avoid them because of that change in impulse. I have XL/ XXL size hands and your experience may vary.
