Gooey Butter Cake flavor
jerdmerd@reddit
I scrolled so far, but was not disappointed
AuroraLorraine522@reddit
Jeni’s has gooey butter cake in their scoop shops! I’m not sure if it’s seasonal.

Hello, fellow St. Louis dweller!

Maple creemees!
nursebad@reddit
Maple and coffee swirl creemees!!
bibliophile222@reddit
I had a maple/pumpkin twist last fall that was absolutely amazing.
Batgirl_III@reddit
Superman ice cream originated in Detroit, Michigan, at Stroh's Ice Cream in the 1920s. A combination of blue moon, cherry, and lemon ice cream it actually predates the Superman character by about a decade, but the blue-red-yellow colors quickly became associated with the hero when he came along and skyrocketed to popularity.
You can pretty much only find the flavor in the Great Lakes region.
(I love Superman ice cream, but I’d often insist on getting just a scoop of blue moon, which as a little little kid I always called “Batman” ice cream. Since it was all blue, just like the Batman’s Bronze Age costume.)
trish3975@reddit
Holy shit I thought I made up this icecream in my head! My small town grocery store in Utah (of all places) had this when I was a small kid, scooped from big tubs at a counter. That store closed down and I never saw Superman icecream again.
Thanks for validating and unlocking memories :)
No-Effort5109@reddit
Used to get Superman in Florida in the 80s.
notyourcinderella@reddit
I haven't been able to find it in Central Florida now, unfortunately.
Boring_Investigator0@reddit
I've seen Superman ice cream in Melbourne.
Human-Ad8198@reddit
In south western Pennsylvania too. I think you still can, tho I haven't looked for it in years.
Batgirl_III@reddit
Florida is Michigan’s Lower-er Peninsula.
1Negative_Person@reddit
Blue Moon itself is from Michigan or Wisconsin. It’s a Midwestern original.
Batgirl_III@reddit
The original-original Superman ice cream from Stroh’s use Faygo Red Pop to make strawberry ice cream for the red section. Making it even more Michigander.
worrymon@reddit
I always wonder if the children in the state are Michigoslings.
realvctmsdntdrnkmlk@reddit
Omg!!! I didn’t know that about the Redpop. That sounds sublime. Boy do I miss Rock n’ Rye, and Redpop. I thought the blue was violette, tho. You could find it in Bad Axe. I also got the Blue Moon as a kid.
I was over the moon to find all of the best Michigan flavors, including Traverse City Cherry in Blowing Rock, NC. I’ll make the 2.5 hour drive once a year for a scoop.
vegweg25@reddit
For some reason it's a thing in Erie, PA too. It's a rotating flavor at pretty much every local ice cream stand and there's one that has it every day.
Reasonable-Form-4320@reddit
Blue moon is the balls
Mercury_descends@reddit
There's Vernors flavor ice cream, not just Vernor's brand. But I haven't seen it recently.
Tasty-Law-4527@reddit
Every year at the State Fairgrounds on Woodward. Yum!
MeanderFlanders@reddit
What’s the flavor of blue moon?
Batgirl_III@reddit
No two dairies make quite the same flavor, despite them all calling it blue moon. Most commonly being described as fruity, citrusy, or cotton candy like. Sometimes a hint of almond or vanilla. I’ve always compared it to Froot Loops cereal.
CreamyImp@reddit
I just tell people it tastes like blue. It’s been my favorite ice cream flavor since I was a kid, blue moon milkshakes are amazing.
aricberg@reddit
I work at a college in VA and the dining hall regularly has Superman!
refinnej78@reddit
I can get it in upstate South Carolina at an ice cream shop.
yogurtboymangirl@reddit
They have it in south carolina too
marquis_knives@reddit
My local ice cream shop has it in North Carolina too
kirstynloftus@reddit
one of the local water ice/ice cream shops sells Superman water ice, it’s pretty good
Batgirl_III@reddit
You’ve lived in Jersey too long if you can describe any flavor of water ice as “pretty good.” 😊
notyourcinderella@reddit
I miss Superman and Blue Moon ice cream so much. I'm in Florida now and at least once a month, I get super homesick for Michigan food.
Virlutris@reddit
Thank you, this is awesome. It's really throrough and puts me in the moment with you.
Batgirl_III@reddit
A chance to wax pedantic about history, Michigan, and DC Comics!? This is my calling.
LABELyourPHOTOS@reddit
You don't see maple soft serve too much outside New england.
Of course we have weird flavors that are really only novelty like lobster ice cream.
Ok-Factor-3805@reddit
Blueberry ice cream feels pretty New England too
gimmeyourforever@reddit
Brewton, AL is the blueberry capital of the South. There is a Blueberry Festival every year and a local ice cream place makes an unreasonable number of gallons of blueberry ice cream.
So yummy!
undeniably_micki@reddit
I can get blueberry in the DMV. Weis market has that. So delish.
jinx_remover@reddit
Black raspberry is unique to NE as well
anarcurt@reddit
Graeters in Cincinnati is famous for their Black Raspberry Chocolate chip. It's now their best seller.
Commercial_Can4057@reddit
Another Cincinnatian?? Hello!
1questions@reddit
Graeters is some of the best ice cream. Wish it was sold where I live.
MathBookModel@reddit
TIL! I really would have thought coffee ice cream was unique to us
Rosamada@reddit
Why would you ever have thought that lol, isn't coffee pretty universal?
MathBookModel@reddit
Because as someone else already replied, people are baffled by the idea of “coffee milk” even though nobody bats an eye at the ice cream flavor (or yogurt for that matter)
alxfx@reddit
Coffee milk is a strictly-New England thing, so I suppose it isn't a huge leap from there to assuming that the frozen version might also be just a local thing.
But transversely, it always strikes me as odd that people all over the country love coffee ice cream, but balk at the idea of us over here drinking basically just the melted version of it. Lol
ButImNot_Bitter_@reddit
My first thought was black raspberry too!
formerprincess@reddit
Black raspberry with chocolate chunks is popular in Southern California
poppisima@reddit
My favorite New England ice cream treat is black raspberry ice cream on a sugar cone with jimmies (chocolate sprinkles to the rest of you.) Something about it just hits right.
superkt3@reddit
Black raspberry with jimmies is eliiiite
purplepineapple21@reddit
Yup. Its my favorite and I miss it! So much harder to find now that I dont live there anymore
Sarcastic_Rocket@reddit
The one that surprised me the most after moving here was black raspberry being common and not as a Italian ice or a sorbet or something. Idk what region it fits but they don't have it out west
Commercial_Can4057@reddit
Black raspberry is common in southwest Ohio. It’s one of Graeter’s signature flavors, with BIG chocolate chunks in it.
1questions@reddit
I love maple. Would love maple crunch. You his also have cider donuts too, which aren’t readily available outside New England, so unfair.
AuroraLorraine522@reddit
Cider donuts are sold at all the pumpkin patches and apple orchards around me in South Carolina during the fall season.
1questions@reddit
Didn’t know that. But then again I haven’t spent time in the south at all, aside from a few days in Florida.
alxfx@reddit
I'd add Grape Nut to the list too. Haven't met many people outside of NE who've heard of it as an ice cream flavor
AuroraLorraine522@reddit
Oh man, I bet that’s good. The secret to my MIL’s perfect chocolate chip cookies is Grape Nut cereal in the dough.
Top_Pie_8658@reddit
I love grape nut ice cream and it sucks for me that it’s so far away. My SIL did tell me though that it’s apparently a thing in Woodstock, VA of all places but is usually more of a homemade thing rather than at ice cream parlors
alxfx@reddit
Even up here, it's getting harder and harder to find at ice cream stands & shops. You can still find tubs at the supermarket fairly easily, but it doesn't sell too well anymore at the roadside stops and what not.
I love it too, but I am by far the youngest person I know who does lol. The vast majority of people ordering it when I was a child were over the age of 60 or so, and that was like 20 years ago...
Potential-Buy3325@reddit
My dad’s favorite ice cream.
lellenn@reddit
Grape nut? Like the cereal?
Potential-Buy3325@reddit
“Sweet, custard-like base blended with crunchy Post Grape-Nuts cereal”
More popular in Eastern Mass and New Hampshire than here in Western Massachusetts. I worked in a grocery as a teenager and we bought our ice cream from an Eastern Mass manufacturer, and the frozen food manager would order Grape Nut ice cream for my dad.
unlimited-devotion@reddit
Jamaicans LOVE grape nut ice cream! So good
-Boston-Terrier-@reddit
I see maple soft serve pretty regularly at Stew Leonard's but it did originate in Connecticut I think.
I can't picture lobster being too good though.

Maple creeemees
picklepicklepyum@reddit
Wow I would love maple ice cream.
ScatterTheReeds@reddit
Maple walnut’s even better.
Gullible-Medicine298@reddit
Remember, in Vermont they are Maple Creemees. Totally different than soft serve.
LABELyourPHOTOS@reddit
Not totally - just a higher fat content than the average soft serve.
iFuckingLoveBoston@reddit
Black raspberry
atheologist@reddit
When I first moved to NYC there was a store in Brooklyn called Corner of Vermont that sold maple creemees. I was incredibly sad when it closed.
rattlehead44@reddit
That sounds amazing!
Boring_Investigator0@reddit
I don't know if it's exclusive to Florida but Orange Dreamsicle originated here. I think most flavors have expanded past their original boundaries, it's a global society.
Agitated-Ad8916@reddit
Cherries, pecans, and cream. I've only ever seen it at Braums, and anyone I visit who used to live in Oklahoma always requests I bring them two or three cartons.
anosmia1974@reddit
Teaberry ice cream can be really tough to find outside of Pennsylvania.
bay_duck_88@reddit
Black walnut is very nostalgic for me of the Pennsylvania/Maryland border
city_druid@reddit
I wonder how widespread it is; we have black walnut flavor in WI (at least, at grocery stores with a pretty decent selection) but I can’t remember seeing it anywhere else.
MiserableEase2348@reddit

Curious, if you’re willing to dish:
What's teaberry like in ice cream?
How's it different from mint peppermint or spearmint or whatever flavor-wise?
stolenwallethrowaway@reddit
It tastes like medicine! It’s polarizing and mostly old people ordered it when I scooped ice cream as a teen. I developed a taste for it but most stores don’t sell it.
grumpyhost@reddit
I think teaberry is to strawberry as wintergreen is to mint or cloves are to cinnamon. Sort of a weird smack-your-lips kind of astringent flavor.
anosmia1974@reddit
Polarizing is right! People really seem to love or hate it—no in-between. I have never tried it. I wouldn’t mind trying it sometime during a visit back to PA, but since I have a wonky sense of taste (due to being born without a sense of smell), I fear I would find it really unappealing!
Durham1988@reddit
Teaberry is the same flavor as Wintergreen. Like a wintergreen lifesaver.
Virlutris@reddit
Good comp there, gets me un the right neighborhood :)
oolongvanilla@reddit
Have you ever had those round, pink wintergreen candies with "Canada" printed on them that often come in peg bags at drugstores? Like these? That's exactly what teaberry tastes like. In ice cream form, the cold, smooth minty flavor is very refreshing.
Virlutris@reddit
That's a really good description. I can almost taste it.
I think i can see why someone else might think it was medicine-y.
oolongvanilla@reddit
I hate the Pepto-Bismal description, not because it's completely inaccurate, but because it makes it sound unappealing. They're both pink and wintergreen, but teaberry ice cream is still sweet, not bitter like Pepto. Teaberry's not chalky, either.
LABELyourPHOTOS@reddit
Teaberries are so much milder. I hate to say it but more like pepto bismol.
oolongvanilla@reddit
It's much more smooth and mellow. Not sharp or overpowering like other mints can be. Teaberry is the same thing as wintergreen, and that's a key flavoring in a lot of rootbeers, so it's sort of like a mellow rootbeer flavor.
Virlutris@reddit
That's a nice breakdown, thanks :)
Everything_Breaks@reddit
It tastes like Pepto-Bismol original flavor
preygoneesh@reddit
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so! I’m from the west coast, went to PA to visit a friend and on a zoom meeting some East coast coworkers were asking if I went to the Penn state ice cream shop. I said I had a bit of tea berry but it reminded me of Mylanta or Pepto Bismol and even though I do kinda like that flavor it seemed too much for a whole scoop.
I could see two coworkers in hysterics (on mute) in their zoom windows and I was like am I crazy for comparing it to that? It totally does!
Original-Locksmith58@reddit
I think pepto is delicious though
preygoneesh@reddit
Same! Maybe they laughed because I said as much haha
Number-2-Sis@reddit
We have a place near me that sells shoe fly pie ice cream, it's incredible.
meadowlakeschool@reddit
Just saw it today at my local PA ice cream shop.
FunDivertissement@reddit
Does it taste like teaberry gum?
ten-toed-tuba@reddit
Nostalgia for teaberry scented soap from Bath and Bodyworks.
Amarastargazer@reddit
I am going to be on the hunt for this this summer! I only learned about it a few months ago and now I neeed to find it.
BigAggravating8576@reddit
Randomly easy enough to find in Maine!

I LOVE teaberry ice cream. I’ve only ever had it while visiting grandma in Sunbury, PA as a kid. Always looked forward to getting it.
OkayDay21@reddit
Teaberry ice cream from the Franklin Fountain in Philadelphia is perfection

Everything_Breaks@reddit
My mother's favorite. She's in Bethlehem and gets it at Weiss grocery.
Dapper-Presence4975@reddit
Never seen it, but I’d definitely try it
coykoi314@reddit
My region is known for wild and crazy snow ball flavors, not so much ice cream.
Which_Loss6887@reddit
Blue Moon. (The original blue moon with the unidentifiable flavor, not the blue cotton candy flavor that often gets passed off for it now.) Not exclusive to where I live now, but to where I grew up in the upper midwest
Weekly_Guidance_498@reddit
I always thought it tasted like Fruity Pebbles
Which_Loss6887@reddit
Some people say it tastes that way now, but it didn’t back then, at least not directly. I’ve always hated fruity pebbles with a passion, even as a kid, but I loved blue moon. Popular lore is that the old flavor was mostly castoreum. There is so much disagreement about what the flavor is/was that I suspect it was one of those things that doesn’t activate everyone’s taste buds the same way, kind of like hops or cilantro. The original blue moon flavoring was made by only one company, who supplied it to various Midwestern ice cream makers. Now multiple companies make their own version of the flavor, all of which are a little different. (And all of which are trying too hard, to my palate. It used to be such a mellow, subtle flavor.)
Anathemautomaton@reddit
Like from beavers?
I know it's used for perfumes, but it seems wild to use it in ice cream.
Which_Loss6887@reddit
Yes, from beavers. It used to be a pretty common “natural flavoring.” I’m not sure if it is anymore (I’d suspect not). I’ve usually seen it described as like vanilla-ish with a bit of strawberry, which sounds reasonably accurate.
Icey-Emotion@reddit
Blue Moon is also super popular where I live now. I had never heard of it prior. It's like a small, tiny pocket in the state I am in.
vegweg25@reddit
Erie?
Reasonable-Form-4320@reddit
It's almond flavored
Frequent_Cut_1251@reddit
Can get that in KC as well. Hudsonville brand I believe
seanymphcalypso@reddit
Hudsonville ice cream is from Holland, Michigan and very much a local favorite. I love that it’s being enjoyed across the country!
TheRainbowConnection@reddit
I first saw this while on vacation in West Virginia. I ordered it thinking it was Blue Moon beer flavored.
tuberlord@reddit
I haven't seen marionberry pie ice cream sold outside of the PNW, but I wouldn't make a huge bet on it being unavailable in the rest of the country.
AuroraLorraine522@reddit
Definitely available from Tillamook here in South Carolina!
MockingbirdRambler@reddit
I've bought Tillamook in Iowa and Missouri, little taste of home!
Negative-Arachnid-65@reddit
For a long time the town of Gilroy, CA held an annual garlic festival that included garlic ice cream.
And New England has grape nuts ice cream.
I'm sure neither of those flavors is truly exclusive but I've never seen either of them outside of those regions.
AuroraLorraine522@reddit
My hometown has a leek festival that definitely has leek desserts. Im pretty sure I’ve seen leek ice cream
AgathaM@reddit
I have driven through Gilroy but was never tempted to try the ice cream.
How about Rite Aid chocolate malted crunch ice cream? That’s pretty regional and tasty.
ccagan@reddit
My first drive through Gilroy was the day the shelter in place order was issued to the Bay Area. March, 2020 and the further south I drove from the airport in San Jose the longer the lines got at every drive through.
When I got to Gilroy, things looked normal but the smell was like NOTHING else. Garlic and cherry blossoms. I’ll never forget it.
Negative-Arachnid-65@reddit
IMO the garlic ice cream is worth it for the novelty but one try is enough.
Thrifty brand! Man I haven't had that in a while.
mirth4@reddit
One bite was enough novelty for me
tn00bz@reddit
Yep, ive had garlic ice cream in gilroy. It's not bad. I'd never get it if I had any other options, but it's not bad.
illegal_miles@reddit
Rite Aid is gone but Thrify ice cream lives on!
When they started closing Rite Aid location I got worried that Chocolate Malted Crunch was going to be a thing of the past.
But they started getting wider distribution, thankfully!
leeloocal@reddit
I have a tub of Thrifty in my freezer rn. I need to get one of the scoops to make it authentic, though.
AgathaM@reddit
You can get them on Amazon. We have one.
leeloocal@reddit
Oh, for sure. I just haven’t gotten around to it.
AgathaM@reddit
Oh that’s what I meant. Thrifty. We always got it at Rite Aid. You can buy it at Albertsons.
PeaAccurate5208@reddit
I had my first taste of garlic ice cream at a garlic festival in Calhoun Square,in Minneapolis. It was,uh,interesting.

I don’t think it’s exclusive per se but it’s pretty hard to find huckleberry or marionberry ice cream outside the PNW/ID/MT
theimmortalgoon@reddit

Tillamook expanded. I was on the phone telling my brother in Tennessee about a flavor and he was looking right at it as he shopped online for ice cream at his local store.
Paintedtoesupnorth@reddit
Tillamook Marionberry just recently showed up in my grocery in Wisconsin. It took exactly one bite to be my favorite flavor ever.
MockingbirdRambler@reddit
I can get Tillamook in Missouri and Iowa at Hy-Vee, but there are not local shops selling it for sure.
malledtodeath@reddit
Tillamook huckleberry ice cream is nothing compared to fresh locally made huckleberry anything though. And it’s pretty stingy with the berries.
ToastMate2000@reddit
They are SOOOO stingy with the berries. I won't buy it because it's just disappointing. I like it from local ice cream places.
_luckybell_@reddit
Plus, I believe that true huckleberries can only grow in very specific places. So a lot of huckleberry flavored things will use blueberries mainly to save $.
Super_Direction498@reddit
A couple places in upstate NY they grow together and it's almost impossible to just pick one or the other unless you're being really careful. So any ice cream or pie at our house has both
boneyjoaniemacaroni@reddit
Tillamook specifically was what made me sure it wasn’t super exclusive! I love Tillamook so, so much haha
Forsaken_Election708@reddit
You find huckleberry in Wyoming and western Dakotas as well. LOVE me some huckleberry ice cream!
wmass@reddit
We have Tillamook in our grocery freezers here in Western MA. For a while I was enjoying those two flavors but the store seems to have stopped carrying them. I think Tillamook is better than Ben and Jerry’s.

Yes - at one time Food Lion made a Cheerwine flavored ice cream! I remember getting it here in Virginia once when I saw it in the store. I've only visited, but even so this shouldn't be surprising given Maryland's love affair with Old Bay. They somehow keep surprising me.
Is it mixed with vanilla? It's own thing off the assembly line? Or basically a topping, just Old Bay instead of sprinkles?
I have so many more questions. Jow I want some Old Bay-dusted popcorn ...
hail_to_the_beef@reddit
The concept of Old Bay ice cream is at the best a light hearted joke and at the worst a novelty that nobody really eats.
Our true native desserts are Snowballs (egg custard is the OG flavor) with Marshmallow Fluff, or just a peppermint stick shoved in half a lemon.
mrsrobotic@reddit
Smith Island cake too!
djjolicoeur@reddit
I would definitely eat Smith island cake ice cream
gard3nwitch@reddit
I think Skylite is also a uniquely Maryland flavor
PickleMundane6514@reddit
Nah, I am from MD but I have seen it in NC too.
Stormy261@reddit
Skylight/skylite originated in Baltimore. Because it's now a commercial syrup, you can sell it anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised to find egg custard or skylite in another state.
fuddy_dudley2233@reddit
I love snowballs! Maybe it’s something different, I’m from Tennessee and grew up eating them. It’s a little cream filled chocolate cake inside marshmallow topped usually with shaved coconut.
hail_to_the_beef@reddit
It is something different. Snowballs are like a shaved ice treat here.
fuddy_dudley2233@reddit
Oh interesting. They sound delicious!
js_eyesofblue@reddit
Def not a joke, hon: https://www.tastingtable.com/1596458/old-bay-ice-cream-maryland/
I recommend the Charmery locations in the Baltimore area for their caramel + Old Bay ice cream.
hail_to_the_beef@reddit
Yeah I know it exists but I don’t think it’s particularly popular
js_eyesofblue@reddit
Ok, my bad. I read your comment too fast. It’s definitely not popular in the way that snowballs with marshmallows are. But people do eat it and I think it’s pretty good!
hail_to_the_beef@reddit
Sure, all good. I’m sure there is someone out there ordering it or they wouldn’t make it at all
joystick13@reddit
Speak for yourself bro. When I eat ice cream, there's Old Bay on it.
altarwisebyowllight@reddit
Fuck I miss snowballs. I can get shaved ice here and it's good, but not quite the same texture.
WinchesterFan1980@reddit
The one I tried was a caramel ice cream with Old Bay incorporated in. It was pretty nasty. And I say that as an Old Bay lover.
aricberg@reddit
I need to try this! I found Old Bay caramel corn a couple years ago and it was AMAZING! I love salty/sweet things, but wondered if all the extra herbs and spices would be too weird with all the sweetness, but it was wonderful. I’m in VA so we get a spillover of Old Bay goodness from MD, so I hope this makes it our way sometime!
stalagit68@reddit

js_eyesofblue@reddit
Thank you, Florida! I feel like is the key ingredient to making the Old Bay + sweet thing work. But as you know by now, us Marylanders try to put Old Bay on everything and when it hits, it becomes a thing on menus across the state.

Plastic-Sentence9429@reddit
I remember getting this (or something called this) at King's Island in Cincinnati as a kid. It was blue, yellow, and red...vanilla ice cream.
itsatrapp71@reddit
Kings Island when I was a kid was really known for their Blueberry soft serve. That was the thing to get.
They called it Smurf ice cream because it was primarily sold in kiddie land outside the Smurfs ride.
PureMitten@reddit
The yellow is often vanilla flavored but the blue is supposed to be Blue Moon and the red is supposed to be another flavor. Overall it generally tastes like Froot Loops to me. Just dyeing vanilla and calling it superman ice cream sounds so disappointing
city_druid@reddit
I’ve seen Superman where the blue is “blue raspberry” instead.
Right_Two_5737@reddit
Blue Moon? Like the beer?
Which_Loss6887@reddit
Nope! [This stuff.] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_moon_(ice_cream)) It used to be my absolute favorite growing up in the 80s/early 90s, but these days it’s hard to find any that tastes like it used to.
Plastic-Sentence9429@reddit
It was. I was probably 7 or 8, the Superman movie was a thing, and we were at King's Island. I now know why my dad was so irritated.
kneemeister1@reddit
Kings Island and Blue Ice Cream, all those kids walking around Hanna Barbara land with blue tongues. That brings up memories of the Chicken Dance on the Racer with my 8 year old niece. She is now the mother in Tennessee with a daughter almost the same age. 😊
porquegato@reddit
The one everyone raves about up here is the tri flavor version. Yellow is usually vanilla, I think there are a couple brands that do lemon. Blue is supposed to be Blue Moon (but what is Blue Moon anyway? Marshmallow almond?) Red is cherry or strawberry (lotta Michiganders will argue that it's specifically Faygo Red Pop soooo... strawberry).
Plastic-Sentence9429@reddit
Yeah, this was 45+ years ago and tied to the Superman movie. Just a gimmick that pissed my dad off.

Current-Photo2857@reddit
Same here (curious) actually, I still haven’t tried it…I always miss my window, it’s only available for a few weeks in the spring when the asparagus comes out. According to our local news, it’s “a mellow, nutty savory-sweet flavor at first, with the glow of the almonds and cream coming through.
It’s not until a moment later that the brighter notes of the asparagus, which lean in a savory direction.
It’s a functional sweetness, similar to using green tea in desserts. It’s less sweet than other flavors. But that’s part of the reason why it works.
The asparagus doesn’t add much of a vegetal taste, it leans more savory and earthy in a way that complements the mellow sweetness of the other elements”

AnatidaephobiaAnon@reddit
Skyline Chili Ice Cream . It's surprisingly good if you go in expecting it to be the spices and not actual chili flavor. It has a pumpkin spice adjacent flavor and there are even oyster crackers in it that aren't soggy.
Atlas7-k@reddit
I say this as someone who loves a 3-way (double entendre allowed,) that is an abomination.
DejaBlonde@reddit
Straight to jail
jethro_bovine@reddit
Its really great.
ilikemints@reddit
for the doubters, it tastes like chai and the crackers give it a nice salty little punch. it definitely should not be as good as it is

"Exclusive" is too limiting. You can replicate flavors anywhere.
The most unique I've encountered were grape (from wine byproducts) and black walnut, both in Arkansas.

Blue Moon in the upper Midwest!
The most common description is that it tastes like Froot Loops cereal but with hints of other things. To me it tastes a lot like the canned apricots I ate at school when I was little so there’s some of that in there too. The exact flavor varies between makers and they usually keep the recipe a mystery.
My personal favorite ice cream flavor I’ve ever had is black walnut, which I think is only available in the Ozarks region of Missouri and Arkansas but it might have been more widely available in the past.

Blue Moon ice cream is pretty hard to find outside of mostly the upper Midwest, which is where I grew up. It’s a very distinctive shade of blue, kind of in the neighborhood of Tiffany blue or robin’s egg blue, and it tastes pretty much exactly like the milk left in your bowl after you eat Fruit Loops. Except higher in fat, because it’s ice cream. It. Is. Delicious.

Graeter’s brand had Skyline Chili ice cream. It has their chili spice and poster crackers in it.
If you haven’t had skyline before, it’s more Mediterranean-based in spices and has stuff like cinnamon and allspice in it. I had to get some to see what it was like. The oyster crackers in it are not good. It tasted like an almost cinnamon ice cream but the aftertaste was, oh, yeah, there’s the chili.

I don’t think there are many( if any) that are exclusive, but you will find some that are rarer to find outside of certain areas. Festivals might have a special ice cream flavor.
