14’ Ford Edge vs 15’ Jeep Compass vs 15’ Chevy Equinox?

I'm currently in the process of getting my first car. I'm a
20-year-old and I'm currently in college soon to finish, but I need a vehicle to get around. I need something reliable that can take mileage and have low maintenance. I'm not trying to drive all across the world, but I need something to drive somewhat long distances or when I'm gonna have a new job or an internship in different states. I found these three cars fit my budget range with what I think is low mileage but what do you guys think? I'm in the process of buying one out of these three cars. I have the Carfax for all of them if you want to give me more advice DM me and I'll send you the Carfax.

DO NOT BUY A 10-Y-O JEEP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
Otherwise, I have no recommendation about the Ford or the Chevy.

100% get the ford edge. Still the V6 6 speed era, these are excellent cars. The compass & equinox are trash.

I rented a lot of crossovers during that time period and the ford edge was my favorite by quite a bit. Great usable space like a minivan.

Edge > Equinox >>> Compass

I’d look at a Toyota or Honda

If I had $5-7k to spend and needed depedable, I’d be buying the cleanest Toyota or Honda I could find for the price. I’d rather have a higher mile, older Yota than any Edge, Compass or Equinox. Runner up cars would be Grand Marquis, Crown Vic and GM truck and FULL SIZE SUV from ‘00 to ‘06.

Assuming they don’t come with a warranty, I’d strongly recommend getting a pre-purchase inspection by an independent mechanic on whatever car is your #1 choice. (Look up YouTube videos on what it is and how to get one done).

without knowing the pricing and overall condition I’d say the Edge is probably the better bet

I believe it’s between 5k-7k mark, mostly likely on the lower end tbh it had abt 137k miles if I remember correctly

Just be aware that it still costs money to keep a ten year old car going. So don't expect to just buy it and never have to put any money into it.
All components wear out at some point... They were All designed to last 100k miles .. and you're past that. Ball joints, wheel bearings, car converter, fuel pump, etc etc etc.

I actually own a ‘15 Jeep Compass. Don’t buy one.
Reliability has been normal, I guess. My complaint is just the design and quality. The visibility sucks. There are huge blind spots on the front corners. The interior quality is much worse than the other two.

Does it run well when it’s a low maintenance? I heard that it’s not good on gas and isn’t very fast, but besides that what other major problems did you have with it?
jrileyy229@reddit
Out of the three, you definitely want the 14 foot Ford Edge

2014 lol thanks 😂
