Both donations and downloads are down. i wonder what is that about.
Not trying to belittle obviously. but maybe the project could take it as useful feedback . and of course if donations are down after rising steadily for a long time maybe it is just statistical noise.

I think there was a server issue honestly...

Thanks to all involved
Have been using it to edit zoom videos for the past 4 years and works great for my use case.

Kdenlive is great but the criticism around it is similar to the GIMP's one: UX.

I don't think you have used the program nor other video editors. The UX is prpetty much following the same paradigms as other programs... Can you give an example?
Natural_Night9957@reddit
The criticism isn't mine but there are annoying people who cannot rtfm
f_r_d@reddit (OP)
So you are just putting random unfounded criticisms out there?
Natural_Night9957@reddit
What? It's commonly talked here. Chill, dude.

I actually think that Kdenlive ux is better than davinci

Da Vinci has a very organized UI. Things are according to the modern standards of UI/UX
Linuksoid@reddit
It is organized, but kdenlive seems far more intuitive in many regards
lonelyroom-eklaghor@reddit
many pf the effects are essentially scattered, and to get a specific effect, one needs to search from a catalogue of confusing effect names
Linuksoid@reddit
they are fixing that in the new version that will show what each effect does
lonelyroom-eklaghor@reddit
that's great :)

As someone who was familiar with Premiere and who mostly uses DaVinci now, using Kdenlive was pretty easy to pick up and use. I sometimes use it for simple quick edits while on my laptop.
It's not slick-looking, but all the essential features are there and in reasonable places that are easy enough to find if you're familiar with video editors.
Unlike GIMP which is absolutely unfamiliar to anyone who uses any other editor, and is missing basic stuff like adjustment layers that exist in all major graphics apps.

Perfectly stated.

The main issue with kdenlive is that some of the noise filters don't work and there is no gpu acceleration on the timeline. This makes working with 4k clips unbearable.

Have you reported the memory bug? I can help debug it.
