Playlist of rock songs with great intros

u/lovelyb1ch66 posted the other day asking for rock songs with great intros. I saw a lot of great answers: songs I loved and hadn't heard in a while (Whole Lotta Love), songs I had lost touch with completely (Train Train), at least one I've heard 10,000 times and never knew the video was so unhinged (Owner of a Lonely Heart), and a few I didn't know at all (Dirty Boots).
When the thread was about a day old I scraped out most of the answers and turned it into a youtube playlist so I could listen to them all. It's sorted by song title so the songs for one band don't bunch up together (looking at you Zeppelin).

Another One Bites the Dust. Under Pressure. Not really a huge Queen fan but for some reason those two pop off. Love a good bass intro. That’s a good reason. 😁

IMO, Queen never seems to have long enough intros. I occasionally make ringtones with intros and they have to be up to 30 sec. I maybe have one Queen ringtone.

OK, but “intros long enough to make into ringtones” wasn’t part of the OP. Both of the intros to those songs are fairly long for rock songs that tend to run 3 minutes or so (and 30 seconds seems pretty long for a ring tone). Baba O’Riley is another that just popped in my head, though again I’m not sure it would hit the 30 second mark. I’m guessing there are no-lyric versions of many songs out there though, I know there’s one for Under Pressure. I used to use Rock You Like a Hurricane for a ringtone...

I never said that it was part of the original post. All I said was that Queen songs don’t usually have long intros In fact, the only long intros for Queen songs that I can think of are Radio Gaga (55 sec) and I Want to Break Free (Single Remix) (40 sec). Most of their songs have intros that are a couple of seconds long. For really long intros, I like “Had a Dream (Sleeping With the Enemy)” (1:51) by Roger Hodgson and “Song For America” (3:02) by Kansas

I know you didn’t, I’m just pointing out that I didn’t include that as part of the specs when I originally mentioned those songs, which have at least 20 second intros. UP is 30, Dust is 20. Cheers. 🤐

When I was a kid, my mom put on her new vinyl album... after spending $65 on a quadriphonic speaker system, where she placed the 4 speakers in the 4 corners of our living room... Then she dropped the needle on this... My mind was blown.
