Added sour cream to make a thicker sauce and ended up with mac and cheese soup

That looks like the mac and cheese microwave cooker by the same folks that made the microwave instant ramen cooker? Instant ramen bowl: 4 stars. Boxed mac and cheese bowl: negative 2 stars. We never got it to work and trying to troubleshoot it was a waste of our time overall.

Don’t remember the brand this cooker is but I also have a ramen cooker as well.
I get perfect boxed mac and cheese with that cooker every time I follow the ingredient instructions on the box, it’s when I get “creative” that things like this happen🤪
On a side note, cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of your microwave. The cooker instructions say 2.5 minutes, stir, 2 minutes, add ingredients and stir. I found for my (cheap Walmart microwave) 2.5 minutes, stir, 2.5 minutes works best.
BTW, did you know there’s a microwave bacon cooker? 👀

i propose a hint of cream chese? maybe jalapeno popper mac n cheese? jalapeno, some cream cheese, tiny bit extra cheese and you make the sauce, like breading bits

Don't feel too bad. Was out of absolutely everything else the one time, so I thinned it with mayonnaise. It, uh.. wasn't great.
