Is a lads holiday in Kavos worth it ?

Hi there,

Last June I went to Zante and it was really good. Not too packed of people not too quiet. This year myself and four friends were looking to go back to Greece and Kavos was brought up. How comparable is it to Zante? I’ve heard it’s a bit of a “shithole” but how bad is it really? Would you recommend it to a bunch of 20 year old dudes who aren’t too fussy and like drinking, women and good fun 😂?

Agreed, this is just what I was thinking. I've been to some shithole places both abroad and in the UK, but no matter where I've ended up, it's been the people that I was with that made it great and helped create memories and stories that will last a lifetime.

I went to Kavos as my first lads holiday back in 2011.

Had a blast.

If thats the lifestyle you like, go for it.

(I didnt think young people did it anymore as a rite of passage?, glad they still do).

Was really fun we stayed in a hotel that had a full on music venue at the back and we ended up watching benga. Phenomenal.

You know what you are getting sun, suspicious bottled booze and lots of loud music.

Great now I'm all nostalgic, Im off to watch some of my old videos of my mates from that trip.

I had a lad's holiday in Magaluf when I was a young man. It was awful - I loved every minute of it. Do it. You're only young enough to enjoy shit like this for a very short window.

Old man advice;

Wear a condom

Don't do drugs that you haven't seen anyone else taking safely before you.

Don't go near the water when you're drunk.

There is literally nothing worth fighting strangers for other than your life.

Look away if anyone is recording you on their phone when you're having fun

Yeah it's pretty normal for young lads to go around acting hard and thinking they need to take on the world. But take it from an old lad - it never solves anything and just ends up with black eyes and fat lips. Or worse.

THIS 😄 Oh and go a bit easy on the booze and pace yourself. It's no fun puking in a bin before midnight. Don't start too early and use the day to REHYDRATE. Seriously, drink pints of water until your piss is clear. Your body will thank you later and you'll be able to party harder 😎

Genuinely, do be chill around the drugs and open water. That takes young lives. There's fuck all wrong with taking a pill or a line that you know come from a good source on a night out, but don't let them become a habit.

When I say "drugs", I mean a marijuana, mdma, or coke - and the last one has to be in serious moderation. Nothing that involves pipes or needles.

I went for 2 weeks as a teenager in 2004, lost my shoes, nearly drowned, vomited on the regular,, caught an std from one of 10 girls, and lots of things I couodnt speak about. Loved an 18-30 holiday, absolute debauchery amd choas. Not sure how lively these places are now though, seems a lot of people now skip the 18-30 old school destinations like malia, kavos, magaluf, and go straight to ibiza which has been ruined
