I'm convinced Trump wanted the Nobel peace prize so he could 'get it over with' and start some wars. Finally he gave up on trying to get it, that woman in Venezuela gave him hers, and he went straight into starting wars

Now he's afraid of becoming a lame duck president. He won't be able to handle it if he loses big in the November elections. And he's likely to lose. What will he do for the next two years.
Historical-Doubt2121@reddit
I think it's kind of the opposite. The guy's second term is defined by two things: revanchism (especially early on) and a search for glory.
He tried to be the best president in history (in his mind) by doing the peace thing. When it didn't work out, he found another way he might be considered a great president (winning a few wars quickly against some tyrants). He also doesn't care about the peace thing anymore, if he ever truly did, because "those peace lovers didn't kiss my feet when I didn't start any new wars, so now they can't complain when I start a few".
"Consequences? Damn consequences. History will see me as the president who freed a dozen countries and doubled the size of the USA by annexing Greenland!"
Nemo68v2@reddit
It's not that people didn't Koss his feat for being peaceful, it's that they claimed he was literally the reincarnation of Hitler no matter what he did.
Historical-Doubt2121@reddit
My guy, he literally had a meltdown when a woman who fought authoritarianism all her life, at a danger to her own freedom, got the Nobel peace prize over him.
Trump when asked to pretty please be peaceful: "Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America."
Nemo68v2@reddit
I'm not your guy, buddy.
During Trump's first term, he was vilified no matter what he did. There's absolutely a lot he can be criticized for, but the fact he was constantly lied about should be properly noted.
Historical-Doubt2121@reddit
Noted.
Not sure what that has to do with anything. Either you're implying it's okay for him to warmonger because the press and citizens were mean to him, or you're just going around and commenting on genuine critique on Trump, randomly telling them they should take note: people are mean to him! But hey, as long as you put "there is a lot he can be critized for" before any message, it totally doesn't look like you have a knee-jerk reaction to Trump being critized.
Nemo68v2@reddit
It was a South Park reference.
Regardless, the motivation for Trump's behavior is hyperbole. It's fair to criticize him for war mongering, but I get enough exaggerations and lies from the communists.

Iran is unique in that it doesn't want resources, it doesn't want peace. It's main objective is to destroy the usa and Israel and start a holy war. They dont even care about self preservation. Every other country can be negotiated with. So either wait and let them get a nuke or prevent them some how. Please read up on shia beliefs.
txtumbleweed45@reddit
Please read up on the past 75 years of world history. Iran has not acted as some suicide bomber/self destructive nation. In recent years they’ve shown much more restraint than the US or Israel and it’s not even close. We don’t need Neo-con warmongers in the libertarian sub
RocksCanOnlyWait@reddit
Any authoritarian regime wants to preserve themselves as rulers. Religion is just a propaganda tool to convince the masses to do their bidding. Giving the general population an external target to hate distracts from internal problems.
ChrisWayg@reddit
You read too much propaganda. Iran did not actually start this “holy war”. Hegseth is basically as much a holy warrior as the Ayatollah.
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
He wanted the peace prize for one reason, Obama got one.
This is a man child who cannot handle that Obama snubbed him, and made it his mission for the rest of his life to try and get back at him.
rymden_viking@reddit
The Democrat who wins in 2028 is going to undo a couple of the things Trump did, get a Nobel Peace Prize, then pull an Obama and start bombing kids in the Middle East.
txtumbleweed45@reddit
If that’s one good thing that comes out of this war in Iran, it might give the US a black eye and discourage Middle East intervention for a while. Especially since we’re losing all of our military bases in allied states
RobAlter@reddit
That is exactly what Obama did. Get the Nobel Peace prize for no reason, then started every war Syria, Libya, Etc, etc

This guy stands against everything libertarians are for and support
Phaylontis@reddit
Kamala, Hilary, Biden, and all of the other party candidates for the last 40+ years were worse. At least Trump pardoned James Aldrich and didn't start any new wars in his first term. Don't get me wrong, I hate his tariffs and the war with Iran, but as far as a mainstream candidate goes, he is probably the best libertarian leaning candidate since Perot, and the best libertarian leaning president since Coolidge.

Bro wtf is this comment
3 letter agents are killing Americans in the streets for something that is a constitutional right
The debt has absolutely exploded like crazy because of his BBB
This is the most delusional comment I’ve ever seen
gsts108@reddit
One views is Trump wanted it to show Obama that he could get one too. Arguably Obama got one for nothing (his vision not accomplishments of such) and in so doing exposed the award as being possibly corrupt, so Trumps attempt to get one is Trump seeking parody as humor in his way thinking.
LifeOrchid4367@reddit
He did break the promise, but he's better than the alternatives.
Keyhunter2009@reddit
No he wasn't. The alternative didn't have the connections to do this much damage. It still would've sucked, but not out of control.

Hey, at least those boots are clean.
BakedGoods@reddit
how is it after 10 years people still believe this guy. he does not care what you want, he will only take what he wants.
Tiny_Instruction_557@reddit
It’s incredible.
And this isn’t just people voting for him because he was the party candidate. I mean people fly his flags and wear his hats and worship this guy. That is unheard of for a U.S. politician.
