1955 Ford truck, rescued from the desert. Turning it into my daily driver.

I dragged this '55 Ford F100 out of the desert about six months ago and have been transforming it into a modern driving truck. Coil over front suspension, hydroboost disc brakes, electronic fuel injection. Just got it up and running and took it on it's first drive last week! Still a ways to go but she's running and driving under her own power for the first time in 28 years.
For anyone interested, I have an ongoing build series at: youtube.com/noboltsleftbehind

Sorry for the long video, I didn't have much time to post the past six months but I promised updates on my last post! Just got the 5.3L Cadillac LS v8 fired up for the first time and took it on its first test drive. Hydroboost brakes have been transplanted from the Escalade and she's stopping on a dime. Mustang front suspension is stiff but I'm dialing it in. Cruise control is working and next up are seat heaters, air conditioning, and rear air shocks.
The full build series is here for anyone interested: youtube.com/noboltsleftbehind

Dude my only complaint is that the video isn't long enough. Keep up the good work!
ghos2626t@reddit
Honest ! So many times people have useless videos with 25 seconds worth watching. This dude needs a build series on YouTube

Haha I appreciate it!

Agreed this was dope, hopefully you drop a full/ finished version once you got it all up and running. Great work OP
Nashvegas@reddit
It would take me at least a minute and 23 seconds to do all this work 🫡 badass!!!

I was digging the vid until I saw the LS valve cover. Made me cry for the Y-block
noboltsleftbehind@reddit (OP)
I tried hard to save it, but that y-block was toast unfortunately. It's over 70 years old.

Built a 312 in 2023, took a few sleeves but it turned out fantastic. Its in a 54 ford coupe. When I went to sell the 54 one guy came and agreed to buy it for my asking price, deal was done till he said he was gonna “LS” it. I handed the dumbass back his money and told him I’d burn the fucking car to ground before I’d let someone do a belly button lame ls swap to it. Similar thing happened when I went to sell a buick estate wagon w/ a beautifully warmed over nailhead powerplant and a modified switch pitch th400. But that one I asked the interested buyer if he was gonna LS it? He smiled and said yes, told that dipshit to get the hell off my property. But the buick it was super easy to find a buyer who appreciated the drivetrain.

You’re so cool

Did yall see how good of condition the chassis was in? Yall seeing this shit?
noboltsleftbehind@reddit (OP)
But your cars from the desert, kids
OuttHouseMouse@reddit
Bro you were actually able to unscrew a bolt from that chassis. You didnt have to cut shit. Bro. That dry ass air coming in clutch

Thanks OP, I loved watching this. Wish it was longer

6 months? I can't even get around to changing a lightbulb that fast. (says my wife).
Nice job!

Awesome project!
I hope to do the same for my 55. I plan to spend the money on the drivetrain and to leave the experienced paint alone.

LS in a ford. Just don't make sense. It's like an a--hole everyone has one,
Tmunns@reddit
Ls is just the cheapest, easiest, and most effective modern v8 swap. Coyote swap would be cool but costs more money so I totally get the ls here

That patina is gorgeous!

I’ve been watching this whole series. It’s been amazing! Loved the hidden camera at the cars and coffee.
noboltsleftbehind@reddit (OP)
I appreciate it! I actually had another bunch of hidden cam footage from the BigTime car meet they had at their shop a couple weeks ago, sadly the microphone wasn’t working. The crowd there loved it!

Awesome! I just took my 50 out for a ride. Even similar in color to yours. It turns heads. You’ll love it.
TheWhiskeyFish@reddit
Love it!!! Wish I could give my 56 the time/attention it deserves. For now, it's just one bolt at a time. Will be watching!
