Bosnian personal names tend to be different amongst its ethnicities. If you mean Bosniac, then Azra or Lejla.
If you mean intersectional, then maybe Nevena.

Anything with a J in it is a disaster in English speaking countries. That girl would be Je-dj-la her whole life.
StaGofu@reddit
How the fuck did you get to Nevena as easy to pronounce
Big-Vegetable4550@reddit
How would you not? Even an average American could pronounce that on the first try - (below average, well I can’t say…)
StaGofu@reddit
Its not that its hard to pronounce but imagine saying it in english as a native english speaker and not as a balkaner it would sound weird to them you have to take that into the count as well its not gona be as smooth as a balkaner saying it

Spanish is the most widespread language in the US after English, and many Americans guess a Spanish pronunciation for any unfamiliar name. So most people would either say Nevena (or Alma, Mila, Ena, etc.) right the first time or after being told the right pronunciation once.

Well yeah, but that's probably going to happen with any unfamiliar name from outside a region (accent, emphasis, subtlety of vowels), but at least it will be less carnage than some of the murders that can be unleashed!

We named our daughter Matea, and at least when we were in the USA, her name was rarely mispronounced (which is pretty good for the land of the world’s greatest mispronouncers!). Avoid names with ‘j’ (few cultures unexposed to Slavic and Germanic languages understand it’s pronounced like ‘y’), ‘i’ (at least in America, default pronunciation is like ‘ai or aye’ - which is why we didn’t spell my daughter’s name like her Grandmother Matija). And of course any of the special letters š đ č ć ž and combinations like nj, dj, and lj will be a problem (but thats covered already under ‘j’). I think you have some pretty good name suggestions already in the responses.

Thank you! I think you explained it best. What do you think about Halima? Would it be easy?
Big-Vegetable4550@reddit
Yes - I think that would be a great name. Easy to figure out a close enough pronunciation and reflects a unique heritage.

If Emina and Amina are already taken, there's Omina, Umina and Imina left, I guess..
