What a deal, wow
tobiasm@reddit
Funny enough, I almost went with rooftop originally when the previous coupon got it down to $555.70 shipped but ended up going with the $529 deal as well. At the end of the day $499 or $529 on a can that typically goes for $679 is a W.
LZY-Arms@reddit
Well I feel like a dumbie too but at least the $40 is going to a great dealer in rooftop
DrNinjaPandaManEsq@reddit
I’m not super familiar with these, how much of a deal is this? Was gonna go for a .22 suppressor first but if this is an insane deal on a good 9mm one I might change my plans.
Locust627@reddit
Last year, before tax stamps were made free, I paid $400 for my Hux 22ti.
Comparatively, this is a great deal for a 9mm hux can.
PinBucket@reddit
Normal cheap price was around 579 for the online drop shippers.
Your local transfer fees and whether you have to pay tax will impact whether this is a good deal or if maybe one of the 525-540 sellers is cheaper due to taxes or shipping.
DrNinjaPandaManEsq@reddit
Heard. I’ve heard Huxwrx mentioned a lot on here so i’m assuming this is a good can for the price?
PinBucket@reddit
If you favor lightness, shortness and high flow rate over absolute suppression like in a lever action or locked breech pistol.
I think this would be an excellent choice for a 16" barreled 9mm carbine for instance.
DrNinjaPandaManEsq@reddit
For the .22 I was planning on getting one nicer multipurpose one that I can swap around between hosts and then doing just what you said and waiting for the ultra cheap cans to start coming out.
Really appreciate the info though, I think i’m gonna pass on this one for now. Haven’t gotten a PCC or anything similar yet (later this year hopefully!) so I’ll prioritize getting cans for what I do have right now.
mynewhoustonaccount@reddit
Yeah I got the same deal. He said they'd also take 2-3 weeks to ship, so I'm sure we could still cancel but.... Worth the effort? Already had my FFL send over their info so.. meh
Adult_Chicken@reddit
If only we could do the transfer through Capital armory. The FFLs in my areas are awful with fees
Automatic_Market7422@reddit
capitol armory's prices really are shit. and they NEVER HAVE SALES. ever
i love their system though. i guess you gotta pay to play.
BigDSAT@reddit
they emailed me a 10% off code in the last two weeks. Used it on a obsidian that will hopefully be delivered this coming week
Adult_Chicken@reddit
Ya, you are paying for convenience at that point. All I have to do is make 1 phone call that takes maybe 3-4 minutes and then wait and it shows up at my door. I wish they would expand their partners.
TheAddiction2@reddit
Not even a phone call anymore, you give them your eForms login and it's basically an Amazon purchase with a Docusign and 4473
bobsburner1@reddit
Don’t even need to do the phone call anymore. They send you a docusign now.
Automatic_Market7422@reddit
Can you explain more?
You're talking about buying 3rd party and transfer via CA's ship to door system?
Adult_Chicken@reddit
Capitol armory has a lot of partners which use their system to do transfers through with no FFL transfer fee.
Automatic_Market7422@reddit
Is there a list somewhere
Adult_Chicken@reddit
https://www.reddit.com/r/CapitolArmory/comments/1q07sa7/2026_capitol_armory_fulfillment_partners_as_of/
Few months old but this should cover most of it, I know they mentioned they were adding more.
Automatic_Market7422@reddit
Holy shit, that's insane!!!
More people need to know about this!
Berry_Micockiner@reddit
I agree with this statement. It’s good to know that they have amazing customer services but their prices are rough. I need CA to team up with Rooftop
tic0jo3_117@reddit
You can. As long as the FFL has no issues, they will form 3 transfer the NFA item to Capitol Armory and then you just pay a transfer fee to Capitol Armory. I’ve done this before
whittyandbored@reddit
What is CAs transfer fee? Any reason I can't buy this from Rooftop, set CA as my FFL, and CA ships to my door?
tic0jo3_117@reddit
I believe it’s $150. It only makes sense if you can find the item on sale which was the case for me both times and in both instances Capitol Armory didn’t have the item in stock and had no update on when they would get more in
whittyandbored@reddit
Oof, my local FFL is $75, so that never makes sense for me. I can drive 3 mins to pick up.
tic0jo3_117@reddit
Yeah, it’s steep. Like I said, only makes sense if you can find an item on sale and want the convenience of using Capitol Armory’s direct to door system
Emergency_Weird_3602@reddit
Would this be good for a Kuna?
AgathaCrispy@reddit
I was looking at this for a PCC, so did some digging and looks like it would function with a Kuna, but it's designed as a pistol suppressor, so is better optimized for pistols / direct blowback systems. Kuna being roller-delayed, it doesn't need the back pressure to function properly, so there are probably 'better' options out there.
darthjude@reddit
You remove the piston and screw it onto a compatible muzzle device, no difference in the can itself. Go peep YouTube, these are on basically every channel comparing cans on PCCs. They are usually in the top picks as well.
AgathaCrispy@reddit
I realize, but like I said, there are likley better options if your primary host is a Kuna.
darthjude@reddit
Why do you think that? Do you have personal experience? Did you do a bunch of research on it? Do you online either of the items being discussed? What you have said makes me think all of these are a “no.”
It’s a flow thru can so back pressure isn’t a real concern. Contrary to what you have asserted a can that isn’t flow thru would perform worse and nullify some of the benefits of the roller delay.
Sometimes I will go on Reddit and just read stuff instead of commenting on things I may not know much about. It’s super fun, fully recommend. :)
AgathaCrispy@reddit
It doesn't come with the correct adapter to install it on a Kuna or other pcc threaded barrel, and it's only full auto rated for 300 blackout. There's two reasons there are likely better options... it's not the lightest, shortest, or quietest 9mm supressor you can find. So there's reasons 3, 4, and 5, depending on your priorities.
The manufacturer describes it as a pistol suppressor. It comes with the booster for that purpose. It's a flow type can, but that doesn't mean there is no back pressure, only that there is less... it wouldn't function correctly with a pistol or direct blowback pcc otherwise.
Kuna being roller delayed, it doesn't need the back pressure to function correctly. Whether that is a priority or not, it's worth pointing it out. Never said it wouldn't function. That's just how you read it before you decided to be a pedant on the internet.
You can go back to just reading stuff and not commenting now. :)
darthjude@reddit
Here is a direct quote from the website about this can: “the flow 9k Ti boasts exceptional durability and reliability and is optimal on PCC platforms.” This has grown boring now…
RegardedDipshit@reddit
Replying here for dummies like me that are new to suppressors. This comes with a piston for pistol use, which is generally a good thing as they tend to be expensive. It does NOT come with a direct thread adapter, which you will need for PCCs.
I haven't bought an adapter yet, keeping an eye out for a decent sale.
Dear_Significance_80@reddit
I'm confused, this threaded directly onto my Extar.
Slicc-Vicc@reddit
Do not use a piston on a PCC. You will get baffle strike. Use piston on traditional pistols with slide. Use direct thread only for PCC unless trilug
Dear_Significance_80@reddit
After reading further, you just saved me a lot of trouble man. I appreciate you.
killer1bar@reddit
Make sure when you get your direct thread adapter (or fixed barrel spacer if that's the way you go) you take the o ring and crush washer off the end of the EP9 barrel. I just did all this two days ago.
Dear_Significance_80@reddit
So mine has the oring, but there's no crush washer. I noticed that when I got it because the instructions said to remove it.
Dear_Significance_80@reddit
Even with a flow through? I'm so confused, several people recommended the flow9 for the Extar.
Slicc-Vicc@reddit
The flow 9 is great for PCCs. They just come standard in the box with most 9mm and 45acp suppressors. You have to buy direct thread separately
Dear_Significance_80@reddit
Thanks buddy, I appreciate the heads up.
RegardedDipshit@reddit
I should specify that I could be wrong about what I'm talking about because I'm new to this and don't have the suppressor yet.
My understanding is the adapter it comes with is a piston, so you can use it out of the box on a pistol, and while you could technically thread it onto a PCC with the piston, you shouldn't because of potential baffle strikes, and you should buy a direct thread adapter instead. Someone tell me if I'm a moron or not please.
Electronic_Ad47@reddit
You can get a fixed mount for 50 to 60 (steel vs. Ti) or a fixed barrel spacer (around 40). I have this on my MPX and it does help to reduce blowback compared to my YHM r9 and Rex can.
mcbergstedt@reddit
Yeah but you could get away with really any suppressor since the Kuna is roller delayed.
TheAddiction2@reddit
It's great on an AP5
Foto_synthesis@reddit
Its fantastic on my mpx. I imagine it'd be just as good if not better on the Kuna.
darthjude@reddit
I have this on my Kuna and it is awesome.
No-Staff-2388@reddit
Lol wondering that myself
ZucksSkinSuit@reddit
The old version (cash 9k) is doing very well on my GHM9. This would probably be great on the Kuna
AssSpackler@reddit
The real question is….do you want this because it’s good? Or do you want this because the price?? The attraction of price fades away
Temporary_Traffic622@reddit
Help a lazy mf out… is this not a good can for the money?
AgathaCrispy@reddit
I was looking at this based on price, but decided against it based on my needs. It's a very good price for this specific suppressor. It is very light and smaller dimensions compared to many others... but its not especially quiet, and it's designed as a pistol suppressor, so does have some blowback to ensure a pistol will cycle. I'm was considering this for a roller delayed PCC, and while this would work fine for that, there are probably 'better' options out there for me.
Distinct_Age4791@reddit
Example of better options ? I'm researching
AgathaCrispy@reddit
Really depends on what your priorities are. Personally, I want something full auto rated for 9mm. This Flow 9K is only full auto rated for 300 blackout, but I'd probably have jumped on this deal it it was rated up to 9mm.
I've only been looking for a few weeks, but the Rugged Obsidian 9 is looking like the winner for me. It's full auto rated for 9mm with minimum 8 in barrel, which is what I'm looking at. And it's modular, so can decide if I want to run it at full length or shorten it if I want. Not the lightest at full length, but that's not my priority. And price right now is $658, which is reasonable.
mynewhoustonaccount@reddit
It's a little louder than other 9 cans, but very little back pressure at all. So no worrying over recoil based systems in PCCs, and less gas in your face and on your optic for pistols. To me? Worth the tradeoff but you'll be flexed on by nerds chasing every decibel with their 14 inch heavy suppressors.
venolo@reddit
I wear ear protection either way, so I prefer less gas and less weight over maximum sound reduction.
AssSpackler@reddit
That’s subjective to me. I’ve got to the point I want a good can more than I want a cheap can. This can is good. Not great.
azdirt@reddit
Local NFA transfer is $100 plus an additional $25 processing for trust paperwork. So this lands at 636 after tax, shipping, transfers etc. Is this still a deal? I feel like the answer is meh.... someone tell me otherwise.
Mike_Honcho5@reddit
I felt that way about the deal yesterday, seemed killer til a local dealer said his would be 615 out the door if I bought from him.
Dear_Significance_80@reddit
So many 9k deals. We need a 36 deal!
V8Tuna56@reddit
Can't get it into my cart when trying to check out! GA
Huge-Two-3358@reddit
Surely other huxwrx are going to go on sale right? I mean, they literally slashed the price of the 9k only out of nowhere?
DisasterDesigner8134@reddit
You can get a 556 flow ti $800 & $900 with the adapter Battle Boys Guns
rrrice3@reddit
They better! I can't keep buying other cans when I really just want a 556 can!
bearchaosjam@reddit
Been wanting one for about a year now, guess I've held out long enough lol
hellomynameisjambo@reddit
Man the deals on this can get better every day, I'll bite here, gonna slap it on my vector haha
xL1quidz@reddit
would this be a good choice for a CZ p-01 tactical?
TheAddiction2@reddit
It sucks ass on a P-07
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Check out the Shiv
Kuna_help_you@reddit
Torn between this, Milkman or Sub9 for my Kuna…
CountFauxlof@reddit
same but for mpx
PinBucket@reddit
I'm also considering the Mojave 9 (829 at Not Just Guns) and the PTR Vent 2.
I've shot both at demo events in the last month on MP5s. Both were good.
whittyandbored@reddit
What's you goal? Quietest = Mob, Lighter & shorter= Milkman, Minimum backpressure = Flow 9k, I don't know where Sub9 shines on the list.
Kuna_help_you@reddit
Combination of minimum back pressure and quietest. Weight won’t be much of a problem.
whittyandbored@reddit
No one is claiming it's quieter than Mob, right? And Milkman is right behind Mob in dBs, so it's quieter than Flow and less backpressure than Mob & Milk?
Forsakenoneandonly@reddit
Damn it! I just bought a rugged razor, here’s to another can I guess.
CompoundedGhost@reddit
this or an YHM r9 for an SP5?
RedHineyMonkeey@reddit
Is this a good option for a first suppressor? The main hosts will be a ruger pc charger and an m9a4
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Yes!
Distinct_Age4791@reddit
Is this plug and play for pistols or is there a need for a Nelson device?
AgathaCrispy@reddit
It comes with a booster assembly so should be all you need for pistol.
Ordinary-Machine1451@reddit
I know the Shiv is about 1/2 the weight and 1.5" shorter, but anyone own or used both to compare?
chuckisduck@reddit
Wonderful price, how much louder are these compared to the MOB/Vent 2 and the Obsidian 9s.
The Obsidian 9s on a SP5 is quiet enough for me with subsonic 145/147.
laterisingphxnict@reddit
I don’t need another 9mm can. I don’t need another 9mm can. I don’t need another 9mm can.
redacted_robot@reddit
Man, this is barely more than the ecco canine.
Human_Dig4703@reddit
How does it sound on a Pfc
Quenz@reddit
That's quite the coupon code. Up there with the C2K Defense "EBTFORTY."
VenomPayments@reddit
I have no idea what either of those coupon codes are supposed to suggest or what they refer to.
NancyPelosiSportsBra@reddit
It’s probably a promotion for a shooting sports club that wasn’t supposed to get posted publicly. The same thing happened with Staccato a while back. Theirs was girls with guns or something like that.
RegardedDipshit@reddit
Nobody knows what it means but it's provocative, it get's the people goin
PoetOne1776@reddit
Love my 9k on pistol or pcc. Patiently waiting for some 45M deals to roll out.
