"crypto" has been used as shorthand for the currencies for a far shorter time than it's been used to describe cryptography.

You do understand that the person you are implying to potentially be a fed hiding security holes in optimizations is someone who spent more than a decade in this field, would have everything to lose and absolutely nothing to gain from this, right?
