What possible use would that be on the battlefield? It's not like people are frequently engaging armor at close range these days.
Hapless_Operator@reddit
LAWs are great for smashing cars, trucks, and residential structures, too, especially when you volley fire the things.
Whole squad carried one or two each in Iraq, with a few AT4s floating around. Need to knock through a wall in a hurry, or project a ton of firepower to bust an ambush, they're great tools for it.

Exactly what 90s' games thought bosses should be like.

Back blast area not clear.
irideapaleh0rse@reddit
I cooked a rucksack with the backblast in a fighting position so this dude would be fucked.
Kulty@reddit
I guess you did not have a 40mm grenade strapped to the rucksack, otherwise you might not be posting.
Distantstallion@reddit
Technically if you turn it backwards and fire it you have an impromptu shotgun
Edothebirbperson@reddit
The back blast will clear itself against the object made of flesh
LeicaM6guy@reddit
No such thing as an unsolvable problem, just unpalatable solutions.

"BACKBLAST AREA CLEAR!"
randommannamedmann@reddit
Is that anti-tank weapon reloadable?
Iirc, M72 LAW is single-use and disposable weapon, fire once and it's then just let go, right?
I'm not talking about the backblast thing, like there's a way to clear the thing when firing the LAW, and you can use the M16 as normally as you would, right?
The thing is, once the LAW is fired, then what the thing on top of it for, then? If you throw it away, then why put it on top of the rifle in the first place?
DOOM_INTENSIFIES@reddit
Law tube acts as an scope.

Is the M72 LAW quick detachable? For use by another soldier or something similar, faster availability vs. technicals with HMG ether would be my bet besides the it's all PR looks cool possibility

I remember seeing this combination in footage from some sort of parade in the Philippines back in the '90s. I thought it looked like some sort of parody, but I guess it was a standard rig in somebody's book. Maybe it's a close-quarters configuration, for when you're not sure whether the next thing to jump out from around a corner will be a guy, a platoon of guys, or a tank.
BestTastingFish@reddit
Beware of backblast when you’re aiming down the sight of your M16 🤦♂️🤦♂️

You're all so shortsighted, once he fires the LAW he gets a nice stacked up scope

Assuming, of course, that he still has a head.
