What TV show did you want to be on as a kid?

This shit would never fly today, but I remember one of their races were 3 kids on dirt bikes and tethered by a bungee cord. I don't think it lasted long, but it looked like a ton of fun. Anyone else remember this show? And what show would you lose a digit to be on?

I would have cleaned house on Starcade.
IceSmiley@reddit
I actually went to Starrcade and saw Hulk Hogan, Sting and the nWo wrestle

Yes my mom and I plotted how we'd win

My mom used to always say, why don't they just stuff the cart with batteries π€£
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
Yes!!!! The $1500 prize money!
missed_sla@reddit
I watched this with my mom and my dream strat was to ride in the cart with my arm stretched out to scoop everything into the cart.
WendyPortledge@reddit
Lol always thought why donβt they do that! Iβm guessing there were some rules we didnβt know..
CombatDeffective@reddit
Oh, man. I loved that show. I was always jealous of anyone with an atv. I still need to get one. I did get one for the kids, however.
Adept_Pie3546@reddit
We used to ride our bikes around pretending we were driving the different things. Good times
ScrotusSpunkmeyer@reddit (OP)
The 6 wheeled amphibias thing was amazeballs. I still want one
CombatDeffective@reddit
MAX Amphibious 6-Wheel Drive ATVs, apparently they're still in production. Since 1969.
ScrotusSpunkmeyer@reddit (OP)
Maybe adult me can finally afford one. Thanks

Knight Rider. I would have sold both kidneys to press that turbo boost button.
Exotic_Page4196@reddit
Supermarket Sweep. I just thought we could run the the store and grab everything we wanted on a timer and go home lmao
RemarkablePaper1798@reddit
I wanted to shove my arm up that nose on Double Dare so badly.

This is the answer

Marc Summers made disgusting stuff seem so fun. Dude ws an amazing TV personality.
greaterwhiterwookiee@reddit
He was my childhood idol. There was literally no bigger celebrity than Mark Summers.
chispitothebum@reddit
This is what I was looking for. I was training for that my whole life, but never got the chance.
Revolutionary_Gas551@reddit
My Dad actually applied for it, but we never heard anything back. He loved that show lol!
Puzzleheaded_Race_90@reddit
This is the correct answer. DD was where it's at. Mark summers made that show so much fun
PvtHudson093@reddit
This one is for the Brits but I wanted to be on Knightmare.
Carpeteria3000@reddit
I wanted to be cast as a second robot child on Small Wonder. I would practice my robot voice and hope that the phone would ring from whatever amazing Hollywood backlot they made the show on. VICI needed a robot brother, and it should have been me.

i wanted to get slimed so bad, pick the nose & jump into the giant sundae, and compete on American Gladiators S1
WendyPortledge@reddit
Oh man, I just remembered the other show I really wanted to be onβ¦.
Video & Arcade atop 10!
GoodOlSpence@reddit
Is that Rich Sommer?
WendyPortledge@reddit
Who? No! Itβs Nicholas Picholas!
GoodOlSpence@reddit
Just pulled up other pictures of this guy. He looks different in those, but in this picture he looks like Rich Sommer.
WendyPortledge@reddit
He would have been too young to host this show then
Possible_Funny@reddit
American Gladiators always looked so cool. I still would play Assault where you're trying to get the person on the ball launcher with a variety of weapons.

I would have killed my best friend for a piece of the AgroCrag

Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego. Whenever I watched it I answered all the questions correctly.

Wild and crazy kids
InfamousChannel2407@reddit
This show in Australia called "Vidiot" that was like a music quiz show for kids. I can't re-watch any old episodes of it now, it's embarrassing! I can't imagine what it's like for anyone who was actually on it at the time.
Skitzafranik@reddit
Pretty much any show filmed at Nickelodeon Studios , At Universal FL !!π―π―ππ½ππ½ππ½

This one!!! π―π―π―ππ½ππ½ππ½
MulberryEastern5010@reddit
I wanted to be on either Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego or Legends of the Hidden Temple
ResurgentClusterfuck@reddit
I watched all the game shows so Jeopardy was a big one, we loved trivia in my house because I'm pretty sure mom was on the spectrum too, LOL
cropguru357@reddit
I donβt remember that show, but it looks damn awesome.
Annhl8rX@reddit
It was absolutely Maximum Drive for me. I got my first ATV when I was too young to even remember it and grew up riding dirt bikes almost every weekend. I knew I could smoke the other kids on that show!
ScrotusSpunkmeyer@reddit (OP)
Absolutely. 3 wheelers took away any fear of motorsport type vehicles for me.
Luminaire_Ultima@reddit
Nick Arcade. 1000 % .
thewalruscandyman@reddit
This most of all.
I did do a touring show of Double Dare in Charleston SC, but it wasn't one for TV. Marc was there though.
weedtrek@reddit
Memory unlocked. 3-wheelers were so that period.
Exponential-777@reddit
This question made me remember when Richard Dawson would literally make out with women contestants on the Family Feud. Then I stopped thinking about old game shows and can't answer the question.
jackfaire@reddit
I wanted to be on The Ramblin Rod Show it seemed cool but in the years since the way kids described it was actually kind of lame.
Junior_Mixture5645@reddit
Double Dare or Supermarket Sweep!
Disastrous-Bee-1557@reddit
Legends of the Hidden Temple. I always swore that I would be able to put that Silver Monkey together in one shot. And Iβm still lying to myself about that to this day.
Gullible_Rich_7156@reddit
Wow-thank you! I thought I imagined this!
ScrotusSpunkmeyer@reddit (OP)
The show? I most definitely remember it, but it can be hard to find anything on it. I do believe it was a short run do to kids getting injured. But that was half of the fun, ammiright?
