ULPT I have ruined my chances of pulling a sickie

i’ve bought plane tickets to see my gf for the 23rd of April to the 30th. i have ZERO leave so i was gonna pull a sickie but my manger asked me if i can pick up some shifts and i told her i couldn’t because i was away so know she knows i’m not sick. i cant tell my girlfriend either because she’s going to be so upset with me. how do i get out of this??? help me!!!

Yeah, it's called over-exaggerating for comedic effect. Crazy I have to spell it out for you but I CLEARLY do not think that everybody on planet earth understands the phrase. Some people do not speak english, and some people have not encountered the phrase before. Understand now?

Smooth move haha. Tell your manager you’re experiencing burnout and mental heath issues caused by the work. Say you NEED that time to get head straight and plan to be gone those days so they can plan ahead and will hate you slightly less. Idk what else would work sort of backed yourself into a corner there.

No don’t tell re boss that tell a doctor that and provide he with a note that’s says they will be out. Boss is not entitled to why.
