Which Scottish place can I include in my May itinerary?

Hi,
Two of us are driving from the Netherlands to Scotland in 2nd half May. We've got this itinerary for now:
- 4 nights in Killin (booked)
- 3 nights in Portree (booked)
- 3 nights in ???
- 3 nights in Isla (booked, refundable)
- 1 night in ??? (Within 1-2 hours of Harwich so we can take our ferry back to NL)
Any suggestions on where we can go? Our aim is seafood, Scottish food, distillery, nature. I can't hike or walk too much because of a recent surgery so we are not going to do intense trails. We are avoiding the cities and going for more rustic charm places. And we hope to come back for a long weekend to Edinburgh another time.
Thanks!

I assume you've already sussed it out but you must book a table at the falls of dochart inn for their smoked salmon while you're in Killin!
I would add somewhere around Inverness to your gap between Portree and Keith - maybe Dornoch sort of area where you can take boat trips to go sealife spotting?
Keith to Harwich is an epic drive (probably close to 12hours on the road), i would seriously consider splitting that with another night stopover before you stay somewhere closer to the ferry terminal.
Also bear in mind that there is a bank holiday weekend on the last weekend in May and schools in England have all that week as holiday. It's less of a thing in Scotland and schools aren't off there but could impact your drive to Harwich.

Do you mean Islay?
Honestly think you need to revisit your itinerary.
You’re going from one place to another doing four hours drives minimum, you don’t know what traffic might be like.
If I’d been starting off in Killin I’d stick to Stirlingshire, Perth and Kinross-shire and maybe do Dunfermline(ancient capital, burial site of Robert the Bruce).
What is it you’re trying to see/do in Scotland?

I meant Keith, Isla is the name of the B&B hence my confusion. Sorry my bad, I edited the post now.

Aviemore might be a good place to base yourself after Portree in that case.
Although I’ll be honest with you, there appear to be a lot of great suggestions in the thread already and they’re probably from people with better knowledge of that part of Scotland.

I am trying to see nature, distilleries and eat good food. Unfortunately I can't hike or walk much because of a recent surgery recovery.
I thought 3 nights in each place would give us enough of a restful trip..but if you see something majorly wrong, please highlight because all my bookings are refundable

No they do not mean Islay. They typed out Strathisla, Keith, which if anyone bothers to google will find out it’s a place in Moray. Nowhere near Islay, other side of the country and not an island

Given that you're going from Skye to Islay (I assume that's what you mean) then you want to be doing Mull too. There's some great wildlife there and I personally prefer it to Skye. Depends on the route you take, but I'd come off Skye on the ferry to Mallaig and drive down to the little ferry at Lochaline to get on Mull - if there's still a little cafe there then try the venison burgers hoping they're still as good as 30 odd years ago!!. (Come off on the ferry to Oban). I've stayed in Tobermoray but also done a circuit of the island camping.
You have a hell of a drive down from Islay to Harwich unless you've got another spare night in there. If so I'd be thinking about Yorkshire? Witihin 1-2 hours of Harwich - I'd probably already want to be east of Cambridge by then maybe Bury St Edmunds or somewhere like that?
vientianna@reddit
Why is everyone assuming they mean Islay when they clearly said Strathisla, Keith. That’s a place in Moray
shubidoobi@reddit (OP)
I edited it later, because I mistakenly wrote Isla at first. My bad.
Electronic-Stay-2369@reddit
Mate, that's even further to drive to Harwich! Kind of makes Mull no longer "on the way" but doesn't stop it being a great place! But pretty much anywhere north of Glasgow/Edinburgh is beautiful.
vientianna@reddit
Ok, sorry to anyone I had a go at!
PolarLocalCallingSvc@reddit
When you say Isla, do you might Islay? Or somewhere near the river Isla? I expect it's Islay but want to check!
shubidoobi@reddit (OP)
I meant Keith, sorry. The place of stay is called Isla B&B and it's by the Strathisla Distillery, hence my confusion
PolarLocalCallingSvc@reddit
Keith?! That's fucking miles away from either the river Isla or Islay haha!
At that point I'd be tempted to go to John o Groats and settle into somewhere like Wick for a few days.
shubidoobi@reddit (OP)
Yeah I feel really bad that I misspoke in my original post by miles. All because I got swept up in the name of the B&B. Sorry!
PolarLocalCallingSvc@reddit
No need to apologise but it does drastically change the suggestions is all!
vientianna@reddit
No, they said Strathisla and mean Strathisla. Place in Keith, Moray
Bksudbjdua@reddit
Mull is stunning, the beaches are so beautiful
vientianna@reddit
Hi OP, apologies for all the people who read 4 letters of what you wrote and assumed you must instead by travelling to an island on another side of the country. Please ignore anyone’s advice who mention Islay because it will be wrong for the direction you’re travelling in.
Looking at where you can travel between Skye and Keith (thinking more logically) - you could look around the Aviemore region (Loch Morlich, Grantown on Spey, Cairngorms region). Even if you can’t hike there’s a chairlift in the Cairngorms)
On the way back down to your ferry, have a look at North Berwick or Dunbar.

You'd be better off posting this on r/Scotland

There’s plenty of Scottish people in this sub

North Berwick

Definitely look at the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Salen, and further west. It’s truly stunning and you can take a day trip to Tobermory and the Isle of Mull. Sanna beach and Calgary beach are amazing.

The drive on western side of Loch Ness all the way down to Oban via Fort William is an absolutely stunning drive in good weather and no caravans around...
spoo4brains@reddit
Fort William is a nice base for covering Glencoe, Glenfinnan and the surrounding amazing landscape.
subbiedavie@reddit
I know you are looking to avoid bigger towns but both Oban and Fort William are great places to use as a base to see surrounding areas of beauty and interest e.g. Easdale, Mull, Iona, Glenfinnan

There's a UK travel sub for this type of question which you'll find more useful
