The stunt woman would then do all this again but with more power and probably more impacts so they then cut it all together to make it a bigger fight.

The Xena: Warrior Nutballs podcast interviewed Tammy Barker, who I think is the Gabrielle stand-in chatting with Zoe Bell in the clip. She talked about how she nearly always had to work to get trimmed down and lose weight on every other stunt job she ever had, because most of the actresses she doubles are super thin, but Renee was so fit and buff she actually had the opposite problem!
She also talked about being set on fire for "Forget Me Not". Fun interview...

It’s definitely more obvious now. Considering the lower quality, smaller screens, and inability to pause back in the day it was easy to get away with lower budget details. (i.e. the snow scene in Dawson’s creek lol)

Whenever she gets into battle mode, I get goosebumps! I can't say how many times I've rewatched some of the fighting scenes in Season 5 bc of her - Xena's a lucky gal 😏
Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling that Gabrielle would've made a great javelin thrower - she has great aim! Can you imagine if we got an episode that displayed the Greek Olympics?
