The exterior will be unveiled on April 20th.
Spyshots of the EV C-Class show it has a fastback like design.
doom_pizza@reddit
Nothing says luxury like an abundance of plastic and iPads.
swampfox94@reddit
The main audience for this is gonna love it lol
WATTHEBALL@reddit
mouth breathers? why are we catering to them?
swampfox94@reddit
Because they actually buy cars instead of talking about reasons not to buy them on Reddit
WATTHEBALL@reddit
You can't buy class - maybe the people not buying them is because they're producing utter shit like this.
Do you honestly think if Mercedes switched to a more modest and well integrated interior they wouldn't sell? Is this what you're actually getting at? lol
walnut100@reddit
Everyone who posts comments like this on reddit drives a near decade old car that was $25k brand new.
OnlineIsNotAPlace@reddit
they are not buying them for the same reason they never buy new benzes: because they cant afford them. every time these shit arguments are brought up its by people who are not the intended audience. a fact these scrubs cannot accept.
guy_incognito784@reddit
Ironically the person you replied to posts about aliens conspiracies which makes it all the more comical but in textbook Redditor fashion, is far superior than those mouth breathers who buy new cars.
OnlineIsNotAPlace@reddit
typically weak cope. enjoy your crappy used bmws
guy_incognito784@reddit
lol found another one.
All of my cars were bought new but unsure what that has to do with anything kid.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
How would you even know that? Is this something you made up that just sounds right? You really dont think an interior space would lose buyers who aren't interested in being inside a sterile and gaudy strip club simultaneously?
OnlineIsNotAPlace@reddit
I know it because someone else pointed it out last week, the last time some bus rider commented on 'screens'. you are not the intended customer and the intended customers buy or lease the cars.
18voltbattery@reddit
You can buy a c-class … ohhh … I’ll see my self out
cat_prophecy@reddit
/r/cars: "ugh this is a piece of shit. No one is going to buy this!"
Car in question: goes on to set sales records.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
When did the C class set records? Will this one? Will you eat your own ass when your prophecy never even comes close to happening?
cat_prophecy@reddit
Obviously it was hyperbole. But the point is valid: what this sub thinks sucks doesn't necessarily translate to the real world.
Alive_Internet@reddit
They’re referring to the Chinese market. Those buyers love big grills and huge screens.
guy_incognito784@reddit
My guy talks about aliens curing diseases and want to talk down on others because they buy new cars?
WATTHEBALL@reddit
What the fuck are you babbling about? Lmfao I'll bite and embarrass you:
Explain the correlation between those two things. Unpack it for me im genuinely interested.
guy_incognito784@reddit
You’re a much bigger loser than the people you are talking down to.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
So you cant correlate it. Exposing how absolutely dumb you truly are. You then try to assert yourself by proclaiming it isnt complicated while failing the simplest of asks.
Mouth breather confirmed. Absolutely pathetic lol
guy_incognito784@reddit
lol yes I’m dumb alien conspiracy guy who uses the term “mouth breathers” unironically.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
Buddy: plain english: unpack the correlation you keep repeating the same sentence lol.
Just keep playing with your crayons and colouring book since you cant keep up
guy_incognito784@reddit
Plain English, you’re far beneath the people you’re so eager to insult.
Have a good one kid. No need to talk to someone who thinks the X-Files is non-fiction like a reasonable, intelligent adult.
Enjoy your temper tantrum. The real world must be very difficult for you which is unfortunate.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
Lmfao again you prove how utterly inept you are and still failed to find a correlation.
Believing in aliens has precisely what to do with gaudy Mercedes interiors and the people who like them?
You're trying so hard to ride on me believing in aliens somehow makes me a mouthbreather and still cant produce a single reason why.
Do you realize there's scientists who believe in them? An entire government entity dedicated to their research who are far smarter than you or is?
Finally are you now able to realize how utterly inept you are because I had to hand hold and break down why youre so stupid like I just did? Is any of this sinking in?
guy_incognito784@reddit
I’m having a great time seeing yourself justify your stupid hobby for idiots while simultaneously continuing to act as though you’re the sole arbiter of what’s acceptable or tasteful.
I’m happy for you that here online you’re able to find a small subset of people who don’t think you’re a loser.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
If you were able to at least form 1 coherent thought and reply to anything I've said id respect you but alas you continue to prove you dont have the capacity to.
It's a gaudy and classless interior and what was originally meant to be a simple chirp turned into life changing moment where you were forced to look in the mirror and confront your own stupidity. Im happy I was able to provide that to you and hope this experience taught you something although so far I think youre one of the mouth breather that I was referring to and simply cant glean anything from this.
guy_incognito784@reddit
Hey. I don’t like it either. But we differ because I also don’t have the emotional maturity of a teenage incel who thinks those who do like something I don’t are somehow automatically inferior to me.
I get it, you’re projecting your own insecurity here. I’m glad you’re steadfast though and not letting anyone stop you from doing so.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
Not surprised you don't and can't understand what a simple chirp is and you abandoned ship on trying to correlate belief in aliens to being a mouthbreather while ignoring the science and political movement behind it comprising of people far smarter than the both of us. It took this long.
aprtur@reddit
As long as it has an illuminated star bigger than my head in the grille, you're probably right.
agreatcuppatea@reddit
Haha ! That cracked me up.
xlb250@reddit
C class is not a luxury car
Fiveby21@reddit
Not if you're a backseat passenger, but if you're a driver kinda? When did we get this idea that a car has to be big old chonker to be luxurious?
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
People forgotten what a luxury is lol. Sure à c class is no e class or rolls Royce but since when is a c class not a luxury car? lol.
MogosTheFirst@reddit
C class was never a luxury car what are you talking about. At best its a entry-premium car, not even close to luxury. It’s built for volume, shares parts, and cuts costs where it matters: more plastics, less isolation, tighter space, and most “luxury” features aren’t standard. Even basics like ventilated seats are still paid options, and heated seats only became widely standard recently. Engine-wise it leans economy: small 1.5–2.0L 4-cylinders, even Renault-sourced diesels in earlier models, so you don’t get that smooth, effortless feel.
Step up to a Mercedes-Benz E-Class and you already get better ride, more space, and smoother 6-cyl options, and even that isn’t full luxury. Real luxury starts at Mercedes-Benz S-Class level where everything is standard, overbuilt, quiet, and actually feels special.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
When did cars with luxuries stop being luxury cars?
xlb250@reddit
I heard it from my relatives two decades ago, and still remember it somehow. Getting into a C class loaner car corroborated their claims.
doom_pizza@reddit
Explain the S class. Very similar interior.
MogosTheFirst@reddit
You mean as design, right? Because the interiors when talking about materials, space, tech and isolation, they are absolutely nothing alike.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
In Europe, maybe, as you can buy more simple specs which is with cloth seat and iron wheel.
Otherwise, it's still considered a luxury model in whole world.
ab_90@reddit
All MB cars are marketed as luxury cars at different segments
xlb250@reddit
Marketing is what the brand wants you to think
GLC Coupe
ab_90@reddit
Ok. And ?
Saskatchewon@reddit
Let's be real. It's not exactly priced or marketed to be duking it out with the Kia K4.
It starts at around $15-20,000 more than equivalently sized sedans from Hyundai/Kia, Toyota and Honda.
xlb250@reddit
Not that I would say price is luxury, but…
The price is average, literally.
https://www.coxautoinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/February-2026-Kelley-Blue-Book-Average-Transaction-Price-tables.pdf
Saskatchewon@reddit
Going by the data you provided, the C Class starts for around the industry average, which is skewed by more expensive SUVs and pickup trucks.
The better comparison is to look at its price compared to the average for mid-size sedans, which going by this data, is $33,000. The C Class starts around $50,000.
xlb250@reddit
I feel that size is related to luxury
Saskatchewon@reddit
Eh, I don't think that's a great general rule. Lots of big vehicles out there that have plasticky loud interiors and awful rides. My sister's Mazda 3 feels infinitely more luxurious that my dad's base model 4Runner.
Big vehicles can feel cheap, plasticky, and loud. Size doesn't equal high quality.
xlb250@reddit
Size is necessary but not sufficient. You will not make a Honda Fit sized car luxurious.
Saskatchewon@reddit
You absolutely could. It wouldn't be financially viable, but you absolutely could. The Aston Martin Cygnet was a thing, even if it was just a lux'd up Toyota for the manufacturer to meet emissions standards.
It isn't size that defines luxury. You wouldn't call a Kia Carnaval a luxury vehicle in spite of it offering more interior space than any other mass produced vehicle on the road today.
It's all the extra features BEYOND what is necessary that makes a vehicle luxurious. More expensive and excessive fabrics, extra sound deadening, fancy tech assist features, giant touch screens on the passenger side of the vehicle, high end audio systems, the stuff that's not needed that you pay extra for.
That's why the C Class is considered entry level luxury. It offers a perceived $20,000 worth of extras beyond what would be viewed as necessary in an economy sedan from an entry level manufacturer.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
We gotta see the pros. No more random tablet ànd less plastic
opstarfish@reddit
Yep just a screen that will get fingerprints all over it and look outdated in 4 years
OnlineIsNotAPlace@reddit
and you still wont be able to afford it.
nomptonite@reddit
I’d love to see what you drive since all you’re doing in here is talking down to people.
PanadaTM@reddit
Neither can half the people who buy them, that's never stopped anyone
OnlineIsNotAPlace@reddit
you wouldn't know since they dont talk to you.
opstarfish@reddit
Did you design this interior? Why are you getting so offended
PanadaTM@reddit
Lol I'm talking to one right now
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
I’m sure the screen can just be wiped. I don’t think people who buy it will mind if it looks dated at some point too.
Alive_Internet@reddit
I think they’re going for futuristic more so than luxury. Almost like they’re trying to beat Tesla at their own game.
03Void@reddit
I have nothing against big screens. But the RGB everywhere makes everything looks cheap.
AnonymousEngineer_@reddit
Someone once mentioned that modern Mercedes all look like they've taken design inspiration from a slightly dodgy nightclub from the early 2000s, and I now can't unsee that every time I see a new Mercedes being released.
Teams11b@reddit
F - it. I like it.
We were dreaming if dashes like this for decades. It’s here.
nomptonite@reddit
Who exactly is ‘we’?
entrotec@reddit
Most people who buy these cars. I hope you don't believe Mercedes would be pushing for these screens if the take rate would be low.
Not only have I personally ordered the superscreen option on my E53 to have that sweet dash, I even set the ambient lighting to max brightness just so I can see it during the day/dusk as well.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
The “future” is finally here lol
Percolator2020@reddit
Love these giant displays and all they show is like a tiny weather app and a clock.
SnowDucks1985@reddit
At this point, just make the whole car a screen with wheels lol
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
That's Tesla now doing, isn't ? I don't like to use screen to change gear.
kon---@reddit
Really don't know how something like that gets the nod from management. It's bleak, lifeless, cold, one-dimensional and just all around sad.
Yes, I'd get behind the wheel and be instantly overwhelmed by the sads.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
They're clearly wanting to meet Chinese car buyer taste, they don't want to lose Chinese car market. They don't mind to leave more their loyal buyers from most world just because Chinese car market is their real money painter.
Maybe, this model in China is considered luxury and meet local buyer taste, but I doubt Chinese buyers would look back Merc after their domestic automakers now make better deal and more advance new models.
xicer@reddit
I don't know where you work but where I work management ain't exactly known for their good taste.
WATTHEBALL@reddit
Because we're in a societal malaise era and one that's been going on for the last 10 or so years.
cappa16@reddit
“It’s all computer!”
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
Our cars have been computerized since late 80's.
swampfox94@reddit
I love ~~teslerrr~~ Mercedes
Good_Air_7192@reddit
I have the current C class, I hate the stupid big screen. Now I see this monstrosity.
_galaga_@reddit
In your experience would it be impossible to keep this dash clean or am I overthinking it? Seems like a lot of microfiber towel wiping required.
Good_Air_7192@reddit
Mine gets so dusty all the time and it drives me crazy, you'd spend half your life wiping down this dumb screen.
Super-Lingonberry-22@reddit
Instead of stitched, styled dash we have this
aprtur@reddit
The irony is not lost on me that the inclusion of the camera in the center will still not be used and you'll see owners driving around with their phone in their hand on speaker, holding it like a champagne flute.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Some will use it, some won’t. Besides to keep an eye on the driver circumstantially it’s mainly there for meetings ànd in a world where a lot of meetings are digital and happen throughout times of the day were people are out and about. Having a camera in your car you can do meetings with is amazing.
aprtur@reddit
I was primarily cracking a joke at the fact that we have all this connectivity in cars nowadays, and you still see an inordinate amount of people holding their phone and talking on speaker while driving.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Oh I feel you. I think it’s because people for so long have been convinced to their phone being the best option for doing stuff modern cars can do tech wise, because their phones are much smaller and are mobile ànd because theyve know cars for so long to really just be for getting to point à to point b
aprtur@reddit
I suppose - Bluetooth pairing has been widespread in cars for nearly 20 years now, so I'm leaning towards thinking that some people just don't bother to learn the pairing process for their car. I would think AA/CP has helped with this, but even so, I still see people doing this with modern cars. It boggles my mind a bit.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
I can see why it’s mind boggling, practices people should (not speaking on you lol) pick on quick just surface level common sense wise somefimes take them a long time to pick up on
maxlax02@reddit
That’s just fucking terrible from a UX standpoint.
Managing literally every control in this car looks like a chore. The touch buttons on the steering wheel, touch screen air con controls, fingerprints, smudges, and glare fucking everywhere. And god help you if you need to get that screen repaired / replaced.
Seriously what value does a screen that size bring? The only reason I need a screen in my car is for the backup camera and navigation.
Mountain-Union2347@reddit
Having to show geriatric customers how to use the steering wheel swipe controls and the big ass touch screen is a pain. Plus the newest models seem to force you to open the climate control menu as opposed to tapping a +/-
Plus when there’s any amount of dust and smudges on the screen, direct sunlight makes it way harder to see what’s on the screen, like the back up cam. Can’t wipe it off without a rag or something as using your hand will smudge it more.
nyanslider@reddit
This is the upgraded screen option, the normal one is just called a superscreen and isn't this huge, most likely like the cla ev. Ofc the passenger screen is useless 80% of the time, but besides that it's the same digital dash and screen every other car brand has.
Mrr_Bond@reddit
I feel like such a curmudgeonly old man now almost every time a new car interior gets revealed. This is just horrid, but obviously they are designing this for someone. I just have no idea who.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
It’s a few big demographics. I don’t the terminology for all of them though. One are tech lovers.
ButtfuckerTim@reddit
Yawn.
Wake me up when they decide to replace the entire windshield with a screen that has a front facing camera view for safety.
Super_consultant@reddit
I know it’s weird to focus on this detail given…the screen…but those large circular vents look so comical. I get maybe they’re going for “jet engine” vibes with that thing, but it looks silly.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
I think theyre too circular. Could just be the interior too that makes them not looking fitting enough.
Perunakeisari_69@reddit
I would rather pay the same price for the new id3 neo than this tv on wheels
costafilh0@reddit
I can already see, people complaining about paying a subscription fee to remove the full screen ADs they are going to add to this bad boy!
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
It’s defintely à heck of a assumption to think itll have them. Especially with how much sponsoring mercedes does with brands,
hanbearpig@reddit
Oops I cracked the screen. Car gets totalled. Lol
AnonymousEngineer_@reddit
Good luck to anybody doing any maintenance item that requires access to a component behind the dash!
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
How’d you crack it? Managing to bring your keys all the way to ànd knock your keys very hard against it?
AnonymousEngineer_@reddit
Have those central vents been positioned specifically to cool phones on the charging pad an bottles/cups in the centre console?
Because that seems like an otherwise terrible position to place them.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Yeah I think that’s what they’re there for dur to there being a vent on each side of the infotainment system that can likely be adjusted
AnonymousEngineer_@reddit
Cars have had vents on each end of the dash plus in the central position since time immemorial - the only difference in this car is how low the central ones have been positioned.
IME, a significant number of people angle them towards the two front occupants. Traditionally they're at torso level and not sitting right above the centre console, though - although now that I've looked at that image again, the centre console does also seem to be extremely high in that car, too - it's about the same height as the armrest on the centre storage bin.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
I’m sure the vent of the central vents can be adjusted by moving the bar inside up and down but yeah due to its placement ànd the console blocking its path I’d guess it was put there to cool off the phones.
Legitimate_Goat_2209@reddit
For tech-obsessed it workers, some who associate screens with luxury,, this is peak.
EVeryone else can frick off/s
sersarsor@reddit
yes we all hate the giant ass screens, but I also really hate the steering wheel fake buttons, they don't work
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Not sure what you mean by don’t work. They don’t function like buttons but saying they don’t work isnt accurate.
Saskatchewon@reddit
As someone who lives in a cold climate and already gets annoyed about having to take my cloves off when using the touchscreen, those steering wheel controls would be an absolute non-starter for me. Wouldn't even bother taking it (or a vehicle with similar steering wheel controls) for a test drive.
I'm not sure which is stupider; Mercedes and other upmarket manufacturers trying to market the cheaper and more annoying capacitive buttons as more "premium" than actual mechanical buttons and switches, or the folks gullible enough to believe they are.
The actual mechanical buttons on a crapbox Kia's steering wheel were more expensive to produce and work better than the "premium" ones shown here.
sersarsor@reddit
The point of putting buttons on the steering wheel is so that you don't need to take your gaze away from the road as you change things in the car. Have you tried using the d-pad? It's terrible and often doesn't work. The fact that you can't feel the button means you have look once in a while. Thus they fail to serve the function of a steering wheel button.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
The buttons have feedback though to let you know your command worked. Ive test driven ones with the haptic buttons, never had an issue getting them to respond. First hearing of it really.
sersarsor@reddit
the key is that they don't have haptics telling you where they are or when they don't work. And when they don't work, you have to look down at the button. The dpad operation is a swipe, not even a push, it's really frustrating to get right. And when you miss a swipe or touch doesn't work you have to look down, making the drive more dangerous.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
You learn where they are by looking the first time, first few times possibly ànd then after that it’s muscle memory. That’s how it works with a lot of various things in life, we condition ourselves to not need to question how to do something were use to doing. The feedback that the command didn’t get inputted is not getting feedback ànd no difference being made.
sersarsor@reddit
For the end user, these haptic touch buttons are inferior in every way. This is only prevalent because they're way simpler and cheaper for manufacturers to make than molds for each individual button. The fact that such a storied luxury brand like Mercedes is doubling down on this is a disgrace.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
It’s a thing of the time currently 🤷♂️, perhaps it’s legs won’t be long.
mustangfan12@reddit
That interior is awful
Eggith@reddit
Okay that screen is horrendous. The seats look amazing though.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Yup I love the seats. Those lines especially are chefs kiss
FeemBleem@reddit
I am so glad Gorden Wagener is gone from Benz.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Doesnt make a difference really. Every model you’ll see for the next year ànd à half at least would’ve been led in design by him and he said before he left the company he was instructed to design for models 10 years from now.
FeemBleem@reddit
I know. Which is also why I’m glad he’s gone now.
Mercedes come back design-wise eventually.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
Brother why even be thinking about how you’ll see whoever is leading their design, years from now? lol.
FeemBleem@reddit
It’s just not good right now imo. They need to change some things here and there, hopefully they can act as soon as possible.
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit (OP)
I’m sure designs will be changed to a degree but a lot of what they have out now is freshly designed and a lot of upcoming new models will be coming very soon so I’d say to jusr revisit those thoughts in about 3 years because that’ll be when current models ànd upcoming model are getting new generations ànd facelifts
m1ndbl0wn@reddit
Nothing like adding a constant distraction to your driving
cat_prophecy@reddit
There's laws against looking at your phone while you drive, so this was the work around.
