i thought i fixed the flyback arching on this monitor... now im not sure what is up with it.

the flyback was arching with the metal shield around it, so i decided to take it out, apply epoxy adhesive on its surface and then also cover it in electrical tape. now this is happening... what could it be?
did i reassemble something wrong? due to some of the ashesive dripping to the underside of the flyback, some of the pins didnt go all way down through their solder joints. maybe one of them is not making good contact and arching? it would explain the noise...

The high pitched squeal from the monitor is normal, but the horizontal scan lines getting disrupted is a sign that your flyback is damaged. It won't arc by itself if the insulation is intact, so the fact that it was arcing already means the insulation on the high voltage windings is broken.

i covered it up in epoxy adhesive AND electrical tape. so now instead of the occasional arching, it does it constantly..?
