34” 1440p 100hz or 27” 1440p 180hz?

I’m trying to decide between the MSI 27" WQHD 180Hz 0.5ms (MAG 274CQFB E18) in black and the Samsung 34" CF791 Curved Widescreen Monitor in white.
I’m not sure if i’d rather a larger screen, or higher Hz. My entire setup is white, so the white monitor is a bonus but not a dealbreaker of course. I mostly play a lot story games such as Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and The Last of Us, but I also play multiplayer games with my friends, like Minecraft, Genshin Impact, Roblox, Valorant, and Overwatch.
I’d love some advice on which monitor I should get, as I really don’t know a ton about monitors! Also, I should add, they are both $130 CAD.
Thank you!!

Ehh, for your mixed used I think standard 27" 16x9 is probably best.
What GPU do you have? 34" UW is harder to run.

I wasn’t even thinking about my GPU, thanks for mentioning that! I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. I do plan on upgrading quite soon though.

Yeah stick to a standard 27" 1440p monitor. That's already going to be pushing the 1660 ti quite hard. You may even want a 1080p monitor instead. Are you thinking you may upgrade your GPU anytime soon though?

I’m not sure yet! Roughly a budget around 500, but if I found a great deal for more I’d go for it. I also might just wait a bit longer and save more money.

Put that money towards a graphics card capable of playing at 1440p.
9060xt 16gb
5060ti 16gb

Yeah, so, same recommendation then. MAG 274CQFB E18.

Thank you!

You dont have the power to run 1440p boss
The 1660ti is not equipped to handle 1440p, your fps is going to absolutely go down the shitter even at the low settings

27, its what i run, i would only ever go wider (i.e. 3440x1440p, ultrawide)
Imo 34in 2560x1440 monitors are way to big for desk distances, plus depending on the brand and your sensitivity you can see pixels at 34in

180hz.
34 is too big for gaming imo

Just a visual reference, here is that exact 34" monitor in my old setup, with 2x 27" on either side.

It's 34" ultrawide, so it's literally the same as 27" but wider.
Either way, I have the CF791 and it's not a very good gaming monitor and rather old at this point as well so the MSI one certainly seems like the logical choice here.

Don’t go over 27”. Thank me later
