Upgrading from 4070 S - Where go?

I know, I know, this is probably asked multiple times a week. But tech is so nuanced on a setup to setup basis, and everything keeps getting more expensive so I want to make an informed purchase.
I play all varieties of games from mobile game ports to Crimson Desert
I typically try to run as close to max as I can in 4k with DLSS + FG but it's clear that the upscaling and FG are carrying the majority of the load. Current setup is..
i7-14700k ±4.8 Clock Speed
4070 S
(2x16) 32 GB DDR5 5600 MHz

sell the 4070 super and get a 9070xt. amazon has a really good deal going on right now: https://www.amazon.com/XFX-Radeon-9070XT-Triple-RX-97TSWF3BA/dp/B0DW4FRCQR?crid=9F9WDDSBWGL1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.6RlGKSMJy30aJhhjxtrTFZ3P2_QNqStV1BafNFATDwUvJDeIO9WaVjqRYv8ArwdYPVQ1jsNJm-ndGafEs0T2NbvuF71NX4p_p-ADv7HFZw8SMuKWbmEql89KzNQmQLb2iKng9UlkGfScehJKkvVlIXmLia_Hxyv55zpI7sMOO2LYEtIr7N8vfSLPbsx8br9OcPh7WyABYXLdZGdja7TGsoHFql76a9uRqctZh0uGhj0.Y6XQdl_A9cAUimrcBIASmD7jxo87OmcWO69WpfZCCgU&dib_tag=se&keywords=9070%2Bxt&qid=1776227628&sprefix=9070%2Bxt%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-3&th=1&linkCode=ll2&tag=aarworks-20&linkId=f3bfabc4ba2aee21b700697ac139d7cd&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

Stop talking yourself into getting a new shiny that you don't need.

5070ti. 5080. 5090.
That's it. There's no where else to go.
It goes from ~1000$ to 3500$.
ImStillExcited@reddit
You can get a good resell value on a 4070 Super currently if you're going to make a jump up.
OwnCamel2980@reddit
5070ti - $800
9070xt - $750
7900xtx - $600(used) $1000+(new)
5080 - $1200
4090 - ???
5090 - $3000+
Crytaz@reddit
Where the hell are you finding 5070 TI for 800?
OwnCamel2980@reddit
Shit, you right
Expert_Conflict6374@reddit
5080 minimum, not even 5070 can guarantee 60FPS base frames with DLSS Perf
LoganHowlett1832@reddit
Don’t. It’s not worth it for the amount of money you will be spending for fairly small gains.
Sickle771@reddit
So basically after your setup, just purchase the most expensive parts, and you should be good.
SatisfactionKlutzy18@reddit
I would actually just buy a 1440p OLED monitor, instead of max settings use high settings with DLSS quality and use the 4k monitor as a secondary monitor.
If you wanted to play 4k you should have gotten a 4070 Ti Super and even then you’d using DLSS and adjusting settings. The 4070 S was never meant to be a 4k gpu, it was meant to be a high end 1440p/enthusiast tier 1080p gpu.
BedroomThink3121@reddit
I'd say no where.
Just wait for the next gen, your card is very very capable at 1440p
9okm@reddit
I'd just stop playing at max.
Various-Jellyfish132@reddit
I'd agree, I have a very similar set-up (14900k, 4070s @ 4K) and there's nothing at the moment worth the upgrade without spending ridiculous amounts. Personally I'm waiting for next gen (either AMD or Nvidia) and getting whatever I can on release for MSRP
PokerLawyer75@reddit
I woudl love to wait another year, except both my 3 year old desktops are starting to have issues. I keep waiting for the AMD 10-series to come out, because they are supposedly going to get back into competing against nVidia's x80 and x90 chips.
Naerven@reddit
With a RTX4070S you would want a RTX5080 to get a reasonable upgrade. Alternately you can just keep using the RTX4070S for another couple of years.
Hamer098@reddit
I just got a 5080 and can't be happier
