After watching ForgottenWeapons’ video on the MP-40 vs PPSH, I made my choice

This was my favorite purchase from last year, an all matching, transferable MP-40. It’s such a joy to shoot. It feels like firing paintball gun rather than an actual firearm.
Deathcat101@reddit
So was it like 70k?
SerjeantMesser@reddit (OP)
Nope! Nowhere near that haha. It was a fairly expensive though, it was a post deployment gift to myself
Deathcat101@reddit
So like 20k
SerjeantMesser@reddit (OP)
About 13.5 if I recall correctly
TheHancock@reddit
As a transferable? I feel like that’s great!
SerjeantMesser@reddit (OP)
I think it was a good deal, at least in the modern market (:
TheHancock@reddit
Oh yeah, that’s great!
He-She-We_Wumbo@reddit
Don't tell me that. This is racing towards an achievable goal with deployment money.
Grumpymrpuggy@reddit
That’s actually really good considering the circumstances of their manufacture. I’d assume they’d be more because they haven’t been manufactured since the 40s.
CockpitEnthusiast@reddit
I bought a car that I put 40k into and then sold for a 30k loss
I think you invested your deployment money better than I did
sirbassist83@reddit
Typical soldier experience though, don't beat yourself up
CockpitEnthusiast@reddit
Someone's gotta do it.
Car was badass. Worth it.
Sensitive_Box_@reddit
That's like mint condition M16 price. I've seen shitty Macs for like 3-6k before though.

My jealousy is immense. An MP40 is the only subgun I want enough to consider buying.
SerjeantMesser@reddit (OP)
They’re absolutely worth it! It’s something I’ve wanted since Call of Duty: WaW. I will warn you, you’ll burn through ammo so fast! I’ve put over 10k rounds through it so far
Lavits_Crestfallen@reddit
The question is have you spent more money on ammo yet than you did the mp40?
SerjeantMesser@reddit (OP)
Not yet! Thankfully 9mm is still fairly cheap
ecodick@reddit
Hell yeah man. I'm jealous, but you're feeding it well, you deserve it.

Every time my dad sees one of these he tells the story of him and his college friend cleaning out a closet for his aunt and a couple of these were stashed in the back. Apparently my great uncle served in the war. My dad didn’t even know till he asked his aunt.
zelenisok@reddit
Neither. M3 Grease gun, Yugoslav M56, and Skorpion vz61.
sprout92@reddit
awww I want one...
firearmresearch00@reddit
The mp40 is wild. A guy I know has 7 post dealer samples he uses for movies and reenactments. The thing is though that he doesn't even care to shoot them anymore because they are almost boring to shoot. Nothing really happens they just chug along. Perfect for the military purposes, and super easy to keep on target, but personally I wouldn't buy one. I know it makes no sense and is counterintuitive but if I was to drop 70k on a transferable I'd buy something a little more obnoxious and hard to control for the challenge. A 12yo conscript can be completely effective with an mp40 but it takes some cahones to rip an mg42 from the shoulder, or keep a ppsh41 or akm on target

Doesn’t a machine gun supersede everything else in the NFA world? IE if you put a stock on it, you don’t have to register it as an SBR as it’s already a machine gun?
LilJonny2cookies@reddit
Yep, I can put any upper, stock etc on my M16a1 lowers and my MP5 can take on new appropriate uppers.
Bourbon-neat-@reddit
Correct, a select fire transferable is already a defacto NFA item, so you can't make it "more" NFA
GeorgeSPattonJr@reddit
Fair enough, I think I saw in a Brandon Herrera video a couple years ago, he did one on the Yugo M92 and said something along those lines, though his was a post dealer sample IIRC
LilJonny2cookies@reddit
Very nice!
GullibleRisk2837@reddit
How much? Jeeeez thats sick
Sad-Vegetable6690@reddit
Man I loved both of those in world at war lol. Mp40 was so broken in that game. Congrats bro.
Phrezy@reddit
I can do this too! Except mine is poorly built, 100% fake, only semi auto and runs like a pinto after a crash.
StrongChance4812@reddit
Man, look how stout that thing is. Hardly any flex that I can see. Compared to other slow mo vids of different guns, that’s amazing
603rdMtnDivision@reddit
Oh mein Gott! ist das heiß, ja?
I think I got that right lmao
