So they aren't weary, then? Lol what kind of mental gymnastics is this?
an-invisible-hand@reddit
A poll that will be kept as far away from the American public's eyes as possible, I'm sure.
The only good thing about this conflict is that it's waking up more people to the fact that with allies like this we don't need enemies.
2dudesinapod@reddit
This is because Israeli society will eat itself and implode if Israel goes more than 6 months without an active conflict. The entire country is organized only by a common bloodlust at this point.

War criminals of a feather commit crimes against humanity together.

Damn…I like this quote.

Oh no. We are tired of make enemies everywhere. 🥺
BendicantMias@reddit
The weariness kinda makes sense when you remember that Israel has been spending around 10% of its GDP on its incessant warring for the last 3 years, and that's despite all of America's financial backing. By contrast Russia, who everyone in the west keeps claiming is draining itself dry, is only spending about 6%. Israel has also called up much of its reserves to fight these wars, which means its most productive workforce is out of the economy.
The difference between Israel and Russia is that Israel's economy keeps chugging from both investment and trade. And I don't mean just American govt. money. Private investment also continues to flow into Israel, as it's not sanctioned and its production isn't perceived to be at much risk from any of these wars. Even now the BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) movement has barely any success to speak of. The market clearly isn't bothered by the war, so without sanctions it'll keep Israel chugging. And of course Israels' trade is also unimpeded, so besides investment its exports are also still flowing.
Imo this shows BDS is an utter failure as a public consumer movement. Israel may indeed end up isolated eventually, but that'll be more because of political shifts in the overall domestic politics of various countries than cos of BDS. Like the American electorate may be sick of Israel and that might eventually translate to a change in American policy, but that's not a success of BDS. Consumer movements aren't simply political campaigns dependent on elections, they're supposed to be able to push for change in their chosen cause even outside of the electoral cycle, by either pushing politicians or judges for changes in law or even directly in private company policies.
When Russia invaded Ukraine, a whole lot of businesses made a big show of leaving Russia. That exit was rather overblown in the media imo, as plenty stayed and continue to do business there, but the very fact that it happened at all to some scale is telling. They mostly weren't forced to leave, they chose to to promote their brand image or whatever. Yet Israel hasn't had anything of that scale happen to it, despite the existence of an established movement pushing for just that. Not even when the ICC's warrant was issued.
Comparing the corporate exit from Russia versus them sticking around in Israel really shows up how ineffectual the vaunted BDS movement has been.
Call_Me_Clark@reddit
It doesn’t help that the BDS movements’ leadership spend more time and energy attacking potential allies rather than the Israeli government. They’re totally, totally ineffective.
Bupod@reddit
A common plight of many left-wing movements is that they “eat their young” so to speak. They spend as much energy posturing and virtue signaling to try and outdo each other than they do trying to unify and actually face the core issue.Â
I say this as someone that generally considers themselves progressive. Left-wing movements struggle DEEPLY with factionalization.Â
Call_Me_Clark@reddit
Yeah I think a lot of these spaces work on clout, which is gained by dunking on liberals and not at all from actual progress
Bupod@reddit
Yep, it’s just clout gained from Purity tests. One thing you’ll see constantly in Liberal Spaces is this idea that if you aren’t 110% full commit to every single idea, and specifically identical variants and idiosyncrasies as my particular brand of ideas and beliefs, then you’re not actually progressive, you’re wrong, morally bankrupt, etc. This causes a lot of liberal spaces to be at each others throats as they claim one or the other is an enemy because of some slight policy or ideological difference.Â
And these purity tests can often be rather confrontational and on-demand. They’ll want direct affirmations you 100% agree with them or you’ll face social rejection. It doesn’t help that many smaller grassroots group can fall victim to egos and grandstanding, which are only amplified by purity theater and just generally looking to one-up each other.Â
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
BDS isn’t just about consumer boycotts, it’s about pressuring governments and companies to also boycott and divest from Israel.
It’s gaining traction slowly. More slowly than in South Africa’s case but that’s because Israel is considered a special case above all rules and laws. It’s going to take longer. But there have been some big wins. And more are coming.

Weariness is anti-Semitic
Embarrassed_Jerk@reddit
Everyone is war weary when asked. No one but the legit crazy will openly say they actively want a fight. It is therefore more important to see what their actual stances are by actual conflicts and who they vote for. The country has been very clear on that regard and articles like this are simply sane washing it
Exostrike@reddit
Just wait until they hear about the one with Lebanon that's just been announced.
It's clear Trump is looking for a way out and telling Israel to eat dirt is the only way he's going to get one.
AlbertoRossonero@reddit
Well according to Epstein’s former lawyer Dershowitz he advised Netanyahu to continue fighting and he and other prominent American Israeli supporters would take care of Trump. He mentioned he recommend the blockade on Iran and that other mega donors like Adelson have a direct line to him as well. Funny how they say this out in the open but we’re conspiracy theorists or anti semitic to suggest AIPAC and other groups should be considered foreign entities.
Solid_Writer1072@reddit
lost of US politicians are foreign assets, they should be punished for treason.
