I dont know but if you dont care about brrrrrrrrrrt the ruger mark iv is miles ahead. I traded my tx22 and its the only gun ive traded that I dont miss lol.
I have the TX22 full size, the S&W 22X, and the KelTec P17.
Of those, it's pretty surprising that the P17 is really the most enjoyable to shoot. It flies against the "expensive=better" narrative, but, every once in a while, the psychos over at KelTec capture lightning in a bottle. It's small, lightweight, accurate, high capacity, and has a really good lifetime warranty, that's been no hassle from what I've heard.
It's not a competition 22. But it's ridiculously better than it's $200-$400 price would indicate.
I have a TX22 Compact and a Mark IV 22/45 Target. I enjoy them both, but if I had to pick one, it would be the Ruger by a mile. The Taurus is fun, but it just always has issues, particularly FTF. When I first got it, could barely get through a whole mag without multiple jams. The bullets just seem to catch against the front edge of the magazines, or sometimes end up face up/vertical caught in the ejection port. There are several DIY fixes online, and I did most of them (aside from shaving/polishing things down), and now it mostly works. About half the time I'll get through a whole mag without a jam. I like this gun. I WANT to love this gun, because it's fun to shoot. But I have no damn clue how it won 2019 gun of the year or whatever. The Mark IV can be a little finicky, but if well maintained, it shoots well, accurately, and is super fun. I like mine without an optic, but I'm swapping out the front sight for something better than the shitty factory sight though. I don't care about FRT.
They are basically a one trick pony. If you wanna mag dump into trash at 1500+ rounds a minute then there is no better choice. For everything else there are better choices lol
I imagine a good chunk of people have in-stock notifications for these. By the time an email comes out from the vendor and it's posted here, most stock is gone
